Together with Captain Daron Muratyan, you’ll explore inshore and offshore waters, as we offer anything from local half day fishing, to multi-day offshore bluefin trips. Pick a day and trip that suits you, and get ready for an amazing experience!
You’ll start your trip aboard a spacious 35 Cabo Flybridge, which has recently gone through a complete refit. With Furuno CH500 sidescan sonar and our Garmin Blackbox sonar, our boat is equipped with some of the best fishfinding technology on the market. Powered by twin 450hp caterpillar engines , we comfortably cruise at 25+ mph, and have an impressive range for those big offshore runs. We are also equipped with all the state of the art tackle, including shimano reels, phoenix and seeker rods, kite gear, trolling gear, etc.
All trips include everything needed such as ice, live bait, flying fish, tackle, rods & reels, beverages, and fish cleaning ( except bluefin, which we can arrange professional processing with a third party company ). We also offer fully catered meals for an additional charge. We do not have any fuel surcharges or additional fees, so pricing above is all inclusive. If you are looking for something different than what is offered above, please feel free to reach out to us and we'll be more than happy to make accommodations!
FreshBait Sportfishing is a licensed and insured charter operated by 100 Ton USCG Captains.
We carry all the required licensing, insurance, safety gear, and equipment to operate within the USCG parameters.

Deep sea fishing with family
4 Hour Local Trip - AM on June 16, 2025
This was the highlight of our California vacation! My kids still talk about it and want to go back! We had kids age 3,5,7 and the guys included them in every step of the process, all caught many fish and then we found a fish restaurant that prepared it for us as lunch. I would def go again with or without kids- must do if considering!

Bluefin Tuna trip w/ Daron and Skylar
Full Day Tuna Trip on August 10, 2024
We went on a full day trip with Capt. Daron and his deckhand Skylar. It was absolutely the best trip with a fishing guide I’ve ever experienced!! Daron and Skylar were stand up guys. They were by far the friendliest and most personable crew I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing a boat with. The opportunity to try out this fishery and observe the abundance of sea life alone was definitely worth the trip. We got to watch seals swim next to the boat, herds of 100’s if not 1000’s of dolphins traveling on the surface, whales coming in close to check out the boat, and literal miles of tuna. There was a point in the trip where Daron parked us in an area where there were tuna surface feeding as far as you could see in any direction. It was no accident either. Daron and Skylar work their hardest to put you where the tuna are. They are constantly moving, navigating all the grounds until they find tuna that are ready to play. They are bar none the hardest working guys I’ve ever seen on a boat. They were just as excited if not more excited than us to get hooked up and more excited to see a fish on the deck. I couldn’t recommend them enough. We will surely be going back to Southern CA and will most definitely be using Daron and Skylar again. If there was a 10 star option, I would’ve chosen that.

Full Day Bluefin Trip
Full Day Offshore Trip on August 18, 2024
If you’re looking for a picture to put on your fridge this is the trip! Just know it’s a hike to get out there. Conditions were a little rougher than we were prepared for so a couple of us were a bit seasick most of the day but Capt. Daron and crew were awesome and still helped us make the most of the trip. Came back with a beautiful bluefin and they made it seamless for us to get the fish processed so we could take home the meat from the trip. FYI, it’s a LOT of meat. Excited to try some sushi with our catch!
