Ice fishing in Maine is a traditional sport enjoyed by most outdoorsmen and women to past the time between seasons. Your guide Jon uses modern equipment and gear to make your day more enjoyable and to increase your chances of success! Depending on ice conditions and what species you decide to pursue there are plenty of options throughout the Sebago Region. On full day trips you will be provided a warm meal and have a pizza oven as an option for lunch! Imagine taking your family out to experience ice fishing for the first time and having fresh pizza!
Depending on the season, you might hook into Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Salmon, Largemouth Bass, White Perch, and whatever else takes the bait.
Fish that are legal to harvest are yours to keep. Now that’s a fresh meal! Jon welcomes groups as large as 6 on this guided experience. You’ll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot at least part of the time and come dressed for current weather conditions.
Your fishing license for the day is not included, so members of your group may need to buy one . You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. You’re encouraged to dress in layers and the proper footwear (if you aren’t sure what that means, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring sunscreen, bottled water, and sunglasses, rain or shine.
Children are welcome to come along. Remember to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you’ll have to bring your own.
Poland has a fish with your name on it – let Peterson’s Guide Service Of Maine help you catch it!
