Captain Martin Carranza has been fly fishing all his life, from his early days chasing big Trout in Patagonia, Argentina, to the productive grass flats of South Florida, which he’s been fishing since 2001. These days, Capt. Martin specializes in putting his customers on the best bite that can be found around Key Biscayne and beyond.

Your guide operates a 18’ Beavertail Strike flats skiff, powered by a single 60 HP Suzuki engine, which will take you to the best fishing grounds quickly and safely. Up to 2 people can come aboard and fish in full comfort. The boat features a Minn Kota electric motor and comes furnished with the selection of quality navigational gear that will help you stay on your prey’s trail.

Fishing with Martin means you don’t have to worry about bringing your own rods and reels, he already has everything you need on board. Whether it’s quality fly fishing tackle or conventional gear, your captain has got you covered. If you prefer using live bait, you’ll catch some shrimp, mullet, or pilchards on your way to the fishing grounds.

Plenty of species could find their way to your line, and southeast Florida (from Miami to the Middle keys) offers some of the most productive flats fishing opportunities around. The waterways of Biscayne Bay are ample with Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Redfish, Snook, Barracuda, and you can even find several Shark species here.

There are half day and full day expeditions on offer, so depending on your preferences and the time you have, you can take your pick. You’ll have drinks on shorter excursions, and lunch is included in the price of longer trips.

Whether you come with your family or your closest fishing buddies, one thing is certain – a trip with Captain Martin Carranza will show you the fishing abundance of Biscayne Bay in all its glory!
