Start your Matagorda Bay fishing adventure with Saltwater Specialties! Captain Dustin Appling welcomes you to Palacios, TX, where he grew up fishing. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with other people, so anglers of all skill levels are welcome to join. Customer service is Capt. Dustin’s number one priority, so he’ll do his best to adjust the trip to fit your needs.
The first thing that sets this charter aside is that there’s no boat! You’ll be catching fish on foot, standing in the shallow waters. You’ll have more space to maneuver and there are zero chances of anyone getting sea-sick. Of course, this means you’ll need to bring your wading gear.
Chasing trophy Trout is a favorite on this charter but you can also go after Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead, and Tripletail. All species are available year round, so you can choose any time of the year to join. You’ll go after these species using light tackle and children are also welcome to join.
When it comes to the equipment, Capt. Dustin will take care of everything. He’ll also clean and fillet your catch after the trip, free of charge. You just need to bring your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.
