Maverick Charters has been fishing the coastal and offshore waters of Rhode Island for over 30 years. They specialize in Shark Fishing and afternoon drifts across the reefs. You only have time for a few hours on the water? Not a problem. Whether it’s a few-hour inshore trip or a 10-hour journey offshore, Captain Michael Chatowsky will make sure you have a great fishing experience. Join him in Narragansett and have lots of fun fishing!
You’ll be fishing from a 38’ Topaz Express. The boat can accommodate 6 guests, runs on twin 430 HP Volvo Diesels, and uses GPS, fishfinder, radio as well as radar technology that will help you have a safe and quick trip to the fish and back. In case you need it, there’s also a portable toilet you can use.
The species you’ll target include Shark, Black Seabass, Atlantic Mackerel, Flounder, Tautog, Scup, Yellowfin Tuna, and more. You’ll attract them using bottom fishing, trolling, spinning, jigging, popping, as well as drift fishing. You can keep or release the fish you catch and you’re welcome to bring kids on your trip.
Captain Michael will take care of all the fishing tackle, live bait, lures, licenses, as well as catch cleaning and filleting. Yours is just to bring the food and drinks of your choice.

4 Hour Trip
Great charter and captain!
Just went on the short 4 hr trip with 6 people couple days ago. Captain Mike was great. He was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area and who was catching what lately. He took us to a couple of spots to find where the sea bass were biting. He taught us rookies well. We ended up with only one keeper out of ten as the rest were too large to keep. He kept us circling that one spot where they biting till we ran out of time. He cleaned that one keeper for us perfectly. I would definitely recommend taking his charter again or to anyone who was thinking of booking one with him.

6 HR Trip
Awesome day on the water
I had a few friends in town so we were looking to fish for stripers. The weather was great, the boat and captain were awesome and although the fishing was slow for a spell (it happens sometimes) we were able to land 6 big stripers and had a great time. Definitely recommend the boat and captain and would book this trip again.

7 Hour Trip
Just book the trip!
I’ve been on many fishing trips/charters everywhere from Florida all the way to Rhode Island now, and this ranks right up there as one of the best I’ve taken! Many laughs and a bunch fish caught. Can’t wait to re-book and fish with Captain Mike again! Thanks again Captain!

A great day!
