Always Late Fishing Charters invites you on a fishing adventure on the beautiful waters of Florida. Starting out of Marathon in the Florida Keys, you’ll head out to the area’s fish-rich grounds and have a great time chasing various interesting species. Whether you want to stay inshore, travel far off the coast, or explore lovely reefs, Captain Lucas Ponzoa will make sure you enjoy your trip to the fullest. Your boat for the day will be a 32’ SeaVee saltwater fishing boat. It can sit up to 6 guests and is powered by twin 300 HP Yamaha engines that will take you to the fish in no time. The boat is rigged with all the modern Garmin navigation electronics used to locate the fish quickly and provide safe movement on the water. The boat has a flybridge and its fishing equipment includes outriggers, spearfishing gear, snorkeling gear, a fighting chair, and a livewell. A first mate will also join your trip.
You’ll have the chance of catching some of the most delicious as well as hard-fighting fish out there. To name just some of the species you’ll target, there are Black Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowtail Snapper, and Wahoo. Using light and heavy tackle, you can bottom fish, troll, spin, jig, pop, and kite fish. You can keep your catch and you’re welcome to bring kids on your trip.
Capt. Lucas provides all the fishing tackle, bait, and licenses. He’ll also clean and fillet your catch if you want him to. Just remember to bring some food and drinks before you start the trip.

8 Hour Trip – Offshore
Amazing Fishing Experience!
We were running a few minutes behind for our full day charter but Lucas was very understanding and let us gather a few more snacks before the trip. He even gave us the option to troll or reef fish first or last. We decided to troll first. Once we were out far enough, Lucas had us on top of the Mahi right away which showed his experience. After we had our share of Mahi, we trolled for tuna and were able to get at least one which was another great trolling experience. We finished the day with reef fishing and picked up some yellow tail snapper and got our fair share within the hour. Lucas definitely knows his spots and techniques for a successful charter and his deckboss Cal was well-versed in tackle and bringing in the hauls. Everyone in our group had a great time!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore
Great Offshore Trip
I charter frequently in the keys and elsewhere. This was one of the most professional, organized, well run expeditions I have ever been on. The Captain is incredibly knowledgeable and definitely put us on fish in somewhat challenging conditions. I will definitely have him on my list in the future and would recommend him to anyone that is serious about catching fish.

4 Hour Trip – Offshore (AM)
Great half day trip!
We did a four hour offshore trip with Captain Lucas and his deck hand, Drake. We caught over 30 mahi mahi and had over 20 that we were able to keep. We hooked up with three tuna as well. They were knowledgeable, engaging, and made it a great experience for my family and I. I would highly recommend!
