Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just a beginner, they want you to have the best experience while on the water with them.
Depending on the duration of the charter, we can fish for Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Mahi Mahi, Rockfish, Calico bass, and Halibut. Feel free to keep your catch if you want to. The captain welcomes kids aboard that are 12 or older.
The captain’s 37' Freeman is a high-performance offshore fishing machine built for speed, comfort, and serious bluewater fishing. Designed with Freeman’s legendary catamaran hull, she delivers an incredibly smooth, stable ride while allowing us to cover long distances quickly and comfortably.
Powered by twin Yamaha 350 HP four-stroke outboards, she cruises efficiently at around 37 knots, getting us to the fishing grounds fast and maximizing your time on the water. She is fully equipped with a massive live bait system, state-of-the-art Simrad electronics, premium offshore fishing tackle, and plenty of deck space for anglers to comfortably fish around the boat.
Whether we’re chasing bluefin tuna offshore, yellowtail at the Coronado Islands, or running down the coast in search of biting fish, the Freeman provides the speed, range, stability, and fishability needed for a true Southern California offshore fishing experience.
All charters include the use of rods and reels, tackle, bottled water, live bait, fish iced immediately, cleaned, and bagged. We have spearfishing equipment as well.
A California Fishing License is required for fishing in US Waters and a Passport for the Coronado Islands charters. If the trips are Mexico bound also a Mexican fishing license.

Captain Andy and his crew were truly experts in their field and provided a great private tour for my friends and me. Most of us varied in skill level but they were extremely helpful. We enjoyed some deep sea areas and bay fishing and picked up a large bounty of amazing fish. All were filleted and packaged up for us to take home and freeze to eat for the next few weeks. I may think about coming back this summer to try my luck at catching an elusive blue fin tuna… yellow tail is just as good too. Highly recommend this tour.
Sam and his deckhand Kai are pro’s and they really made us feel like we were going out with friends. To their credit it was a really tough fishing day but they were still able yo put us on fish. This trip was for my son’s 12th birthday and they did everything possible to make it a great day.
I’m a local thats fished my adult life in San Diego. Brought my friends from the midwest for their first time ocean fishing. Great communication from Sam to start with. the Islands blew out with the storm, he called and said offshore wouod be better. Got to the dock, easy instructions. Clean boat/good equipment. Sam and his deckhand Kai worked tgeir tails off the whole day. put us on the fish three times. My buddy caught his first bluefin ever. Hooked up a 120lb bluefin that kicked out butt for 3 hours. Sam worked that whole three hours maneuvering the boat, putting us in the best possible position to land the fish. I will 100% be booking with Sam again. Sam and Kai are awesome, they worked hard to get us on the fish and were patient with our inexperienced anglers. This is my second time on the water with them, I’ve also gone on large boats and there is just no comparison with the level of attention, flexibility, and fun we had on the water. They make it feel like you're out fishing with friends and you can tell they themselves really want you to land the fish, they go above and beyond to get you the fish. I’m excited to go on another charter with San and Kai, I highly recommend them.
My son and I did a charter to the coronado islands with Captain Sam. He and has deck hand, Kai, were both great. We caught a bunch of fish - rock fish, calico bass, white fish, and two yellow tail. Sam waa great with my son, answering every question and sharing tip and stories. Felt like we were spending the day wit friends. Would higy recommend!!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
