Chartiers Del Mar welcomes you to one of its premium boats – El Patrón. Based out of the famous fishing town of Cancún in Quintana Roo, Mexico, it will take you on a wonderful trip to the area's bountiful waters.

Captain Miguel García and his proficient crew will be in charge of your adventure. They are eager to share their trade secrets with guests and will do their best to make sure you get exactly what you want from your trip. With over 28 years in the fishing business in Quintana Roo, Captain Miguel knows the local waters like the back of his hand and is fit to use all the techniques that suit the conditions.

El Patrón is a restored 46' Ocean Yachts performance fishing boat that can fit 12 guests. It's powered by twin 450 HP Detroit diesel engines and uses modern navigation gear, outriggers, Penn International downriggers, as well as snorkeling gear. To ensure the best fishing experience possible, the boat is completely rigged with tournament-grade tackle.

Below deck, you'll find 3 comfortable staterooms with ensuite bathrooms and plenty of room to relax. Your vessel has also got high-quality Hi-Fi to let you fish to your own music.

You'll be able to try out any fishing technique, with tackle ranging from Penn Carnage II and Shimano Trevala to Penn International V. The crew also uses various lures depending on your target species. The deep blue waters of the Mexican Gulf offer you Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, and more. You can also explore the area's thriving reefs and chase Snapper, Grouper, Barracuda, and other delicious and elusive species, making your trip even more exciting and productive.

All trips include tackle, live bait, lures, and licenses. The crew will also clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip. Feel free to bring any food you like in order to stay refreshed.

So whether you'd like a morning fishing on the reef or a 10-hour adventure offshore, you can trust the El Patrón team to get you hooked on that fish of your dreams!

What started as a miscommunication turned into a dream trip!
6 Hour Trip on April 2, 202615 adults
We had bad weather on our first day, so I had messaged ahead of time asking what would happen if conditions were poor. They didn't respond, probably just missed it. When the weather did prove too bad to continue fishing, we only went out for a couple of hours and were offered either 2,000 pesos or two free hours on a future trip. Both options were far less than the 6-hour trip we paid for. I mentioned my unanswered messages about the weather, and to their credit, they ultimately rebooked the full six-hour trip free of charge. Once we got our full six hours on the water, the experience was incredible. Our captain, crew, host, and transport driver all went above and beyond. We caught six fish including grouper, wahoo, and barracuda. I'd highly recommend this company, with one caveat: communicate actively and keep an eye on the weather. If we had accepted their initial offer of a 2,000-peso refund, I would have been deeply disappointed. Trips like these are often once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and I'd hate to see other anglers miss out without the option to reschedule. I'm still leaving a five-star review despite the early miscommunication and weak initial compensation, because we ultimately got the dream fishing trip we'd hoped for. The crew was incredible, thank you, guys!

Great Trip and Great Crew!
6 Hour Trip - 7:00 AM on February 25, 20265 adults7 children
We had a great day on the boat! Our group consisted of 7 kids (babe in arms to 10 years old). We requested to go to where the fish were biting and the second we started fishing, we were catching!! We caught 4 different types of fish and the kids had so much fun reeling them in. Our only issue was the upset tummies due to the waves, but the crew was flexible and gracious and took us to Isla Mujeres to get a break from the sea. The captain recommended a certain fish for ceviche and the result was delicious! The whole crew was kind, helpful and knowledgable. I highly recommend them!

Seas were rough, the wives tapped out, but the crew turned chaos into a perfect trip.
6 Hour Trip - 7:00 AM on July 25, 202512 adults
Our group of 12 (plus 3 crew) started strong, but when the waves kicked up, a few of the wives got seasick—right as the big fish started biting, of course. The guys wanted to stay, the wives wanted to go, and the captain and crew handled it all like absolute pros. They baited hooks, helped the seasick, cooked amazing food, and never once stopped smiling. Rough seas or not, these guys made it an incredible trip. We'll definitely be back—probably without the wives next time 😂. Easy to get to, fantastic food, and the best crew you could ask for. Highly recommend!

4 Hour Trip - 1:00 PM on January 22, 20265 adults7 children
We did a four hour charter, 7 childern under 12 years old. The captain and crew were so kind patient with the kids. We dodged some storms they kept the boat in calm water. they tried for a quick action to keep the kids engaged. Everyone had a blast. It was each of their first times on the ocean fishing. Can't say thank you enough great charter great tour would highly recommend for family fishing.

Did what we asked, but...
6 Hour Trip - 7:00 AM on March 31, 202614 adults1 child
The crew and captain were great. They worked hard to put us on fish, provided great service, cooked an awesome meal and rushed to open our beers. My only wish was that they would have warned us about the conditions where we headed to fish. We were a big group (14) and hoped to get onto a big fish. I was asked what we wanted to fish for and our kids (who the trip was for) said go big or go home. I only wish that they would have warned us that doing so was going to put us into 10' rollers. Many of our group became sea sick and we had to turn around just as we arrived to the fishing grounds. Had we known the conditions were going to be like that we may have decided to fish for something different. Not really their fault, more a language barrier probably. Again, communication prior to the trip, crew and captain were all very good. I, personally, had a great time as I didn't get sick;)
