Half Day Trip (AM) on October 30, 2022 • 2 adultsIt was My 16 year olds bday and he wanted to learn salt water fly fishing on the flats. Upon arrival Colin said he didn't bring any fly equipment. !?!?! He offered a discount if we would fish the morning then asked for the full amount when we returned. We wanted to fish and we're ready to go so we went! He appeared apologetic by email after and offered to take my son out again or return what was paid. Great... But... When I tried to set a date he retracted his offer and my son was disappointed again by the same captain!! If u want a man of his word... Colin's not for you. If you want to go fly fishing then make sure you call him to remind him to bring the equipment or else you are just overpaying for a captain that can't put you on any fish... That's what happened to us.

Half Day Trip – Night Tarpon Trip on June 6, 2022 • 1 adultAt the beginning almost no action, but as the sun started to set we have good action. A first tarpon lost just after hook up. Then a I hooked a second on blue crab. This was large, over 100 lbs. It almost did not jump, but it made us go around. Captain Mike followed the fist and avoided its maneuvers to break lose. Captain Mike did an excellent job maneuvering the boat. After an hour fighting we manage to make the fish close to the boat, but only for a very short while not enough to take nice pictures. We brought the fish close to the boat a couple of times, but only for a few minutes before it ran away again. I got really tired and decided to break the line and that’s the end of the story since it was already dark and time to go. Captain Mike provided me with very nice spinning outfit. Van staal reel and 80 lbs fishing rod. It was an impressive experience fighting such large tarpon, but without Captain Mike expertise piloting the boat it would have ended shortly.
