The boat you’ll be using is a 21’ Excel Catfish Pro that can sit up to 3 guests. It runs on a 150 HP Suzuki outboard and is outfitted with a fishfinder that uses GPS technology and a Minn Kota Ulterra self deploying trolling motor. We are Coast Guard compliant with the new required regulation of having Type 1 Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices aboard for each person. We also keep an emergency radio on board.
The lovely species you can chase on your trip include Catfish and the occasional Striped Bass and Drum. You can use heavy tackle bottom fishing, trolling, as well as drifting and dragging to reel in your catch. If you plan on keeping what you catch please bring a cooler with ice. We release all big fish. Also, alcohol is not allowed on the trip.
Captain Billy takes care of all the needed rods, reels, and tackle. You should bring some food and drinks as well as your Tennessee fishing licenses.

Birthday Charter
Mixed Bag Trip on July 28, 2024
We took the charter for my son’s 18th birthday and Captain Billy made it a perfect day!! We caught drum, channel cats, large mouth bass and white bass. My son even got to try to catch a striper. Captain Billy went the extra mile and spent time so my son could try to catch small mouth bass as well. It was a terrific morning! We would definitely charter from Tennessee River Valley Guide again!!

Bull Run Flathead Special! (AM) on May 26, 2024
Me and my son Micah got to catch bait with Billy and had a good time doing that. He then took us to catch flatheads. We caught a decent size Flathead and 2 channel cats. We had a blast and will continue to use Billy.

Evening trip with captain clabough
Catfishing Trip on December 19, 2021
I was looking up YouTube videos and came across the fishing with billy channel and he stated he offered a guiding service and he had an open spot during the time we would be visiting east Tennessee. I have never been on a guided fishing trip so wasn't sure what to expect. It was an awesome trip. He had fresh bait waiting on our trip and we didn't have to bring any tackle, just ourselves. We stayed out from 4p-10p and caught 14 catfish( the one in the photo being the biggest and my biggest fish ever), he also showed us how to locate fish on his graph, how to tie rigs to catch bait and even got us on some crappie later in the evening. We will definitely be back around February for another trip.

Catfishing Trip on October 24, 2021
This was my second trip out with Capt. Billy and was very happy with both trips. Caught several good fish during both outings and the fish made him work for the bite second trip due to blue bird skies and a cold front but once he got us on the fish the bite was on and we landed several quality fish! In addition he has quality equipment no worries landing fish or getting to and from the fishing areas in the boat.
