Captain William Clabough is a cordial angler with lots of experience under his belt and will do his best to make your trip enjoyable and exciting. The boat you’ll be using is a 21’ Excel Catfish Pro that can sit up to 3 guests. It runs on a 150 HP Suzuki outboard and is outfitted with a fishfinder that uses GPS technology and a Minn Kota Ulterra self deploying trolling motor.  We are Coast Guard compliant with the new required regulation of having Type 1 Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices aboard for each person.  We also keep an emergency radio on board.

The lovely species you can chase on your trip include Catfish and the occasional Striped Bass and Drum. You can use heavy tackle bottom fishing, trolling, as well as drifting and dragging to reel in your catch. If you plan on keeping what you catch please bring a cooler with ice. We release all big fish. Also, alcohol is not allowed on the trip.

Captain Billy takes care of all the needed rods, reels, and tackle. You should bring some food and drinks as well as your Tennessee fishing licenses.

These bountiful freshwater grounds are waiting for you, come aboard and have a great day of fishing in Tennessee!

As a Knoxville Tennessee native, I’ve had the privilege of growing up surrounded by beautiful lakes, rivers, and creeks. As a young child, my parents would take me on fishing trips. Without a doubt, I quickly became hooked on the thrill of the catch. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours exploring the many waterways in East Tennessee, and I’ve become an avid fisherman. I am a licensed and insured Fishing Guide and US Coast Guard Captain, available for booking guided fishing trips! With years of experience, I specialize in providing a safe and enjoyable fishing experience for all skill levels. Book now or contact me for more info. Let’s go fishing and create lasting memories!

Summer Catfish Spawn Has Started!
Summer Catfish Spawn Has Started!
June 17, 2024
On June 17, 2024, we had a successful day on the waters of Tellico Lake, targeting blue catfish. We explored a shallow backwater area where the water was around 5 feet deep and found that the anchor bite was more productive than dragging, especially in a shady spot near a choke point. We landed two large blue catfish showing signs of the spawning season, along with several smaller ones. This area would be great for setting out jugs and filling coolers with these catches. Tellico Lake is unique in East Tennessee as it's the only lake where the smaller catfish are not contaminated. They removed the transformers that were poisoning the lake, making the catfish safe to eat. If you're interested in a trip where you can actually enjoy the catfish you catch, feel free to contact me for more information!
