Flat Water Charters invites you to Gordonville for a fishing and lodging experience you won’t soon forget!
Around here you can cast a line in remote lake waters, including a few honeyholes that only the locals can clue you in on.
These waters are known for Striped Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass, Catfish, Sand Bass, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. On the day of your trip you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.
Your fishing vessel will be a 23’ Polar center console which has a live bait tank, and other essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your party will need to buy a local fishing license . You can usually find that information online, or reach out to the lodging coordinator here.

Took my 13 year old son on a trip in late April. The captain was nice, friendly and patient. He baited every hook, netted every fish, took photos, and actively worked to get us to catch fish for the entire 5 hours. Never once did I feel like he was annoyed baiting a hook or helping me son with his reel. We are not experienced fisherman, but we caught a nice load of catfish and had a blast. Perfect amount of small talk, but also let us enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake. A very memorable experience for us. We are going to do it again and will use Flat Water Charters every time.

We had a really good trip, Captain Bob was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed as far as baiting hooks etc… He cleaned and packaged our catch for the day, we took home about 3 pounds of catfish. Definitely a good trip for anyone who likes fishing or people that just want to try fishing for the first time, as Bob does all the work and you get to relax and have fun.

AWESOME TIME

even though we did have engine trouble and that was probably because of the flood waters and the lake being so murky…. The motor just got clogged…. This Captain Bob Hodges made the best of a fishing day…. He did not give up and say we are going into the dock …. He suggested to troll and fish for catfish and any other sort of fishing the boys could do ….. all in all it was wonderful and a definite YES to book with him again

I took my son out for his 10th birthday. Captain Bob was so abundantly kind and incredible. He knew exactly where to go to get some good bites! He was so awesome with my son, he helped us bait every hook, he was so patient. We are definitely going back before summer is gone! I see him as friend, he truly is an awesome man! Thanks for such great memories!
