Drag Taker Fishing Charter's mission is to provide you with a safe, enjoyable, and productive fishing trip under the guidance of Captain Greg Brown. He strives to tailor each trip to your individual needs no matter if you're looking to fill your cooler with tasty fish or chase trophy game fish. Captain Greg uses his experience to make your trip memorable, no matter how skilled of an angler you are. Join him in Newport News and make fishing memories that last a lifetime.

The boat you'll use for fishing is a 22' Sea Pro center console that can fit up to 6 anglers comfortably. It's powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine and uses all the modern fish finders, GPS, radio, as well as radar technology for reaching your fishing spots quickly and efficiently. The boat features 6 insulated ice-boxes so you can store your fish, a multimedia system to make your trip even more enjoyable, and a livewell for keeping live bait.

The species you and Captain Greg will go after are King George Whiting, Striped Bass, Flounder, Scup, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Black Seabass, and many more. You can attract them by bottom fishing, trolling, spinning, jigging, as well as drifting, all using light tackle. You're free to keep your catch if you want to.

Captain Greg will take care of fishing licenses. You should bring your bait, snacks, and drinks. Fishing rods and bait are available for purchase and rental. Kids over 6 are welcome to join aboard and smoking and alcohol are not allowed during the trip.

We had an amazing experience with Captain Greg Brown! He was incredibly personable ,kind, patient, and knowledgeable from start to finish. He took our family out on his boat and made sure we not only caught fish — including a huge catfish! — but also learned a lot along the way.

Captain Greg took the time to explain each fishing spot, shared helpful tips about land fishing areas, and even taught us what kind of bait works best. What really stood out was how patient and encouraging he was with our 8-year-old, turning the whole trip into an educational and fun adventure.

You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants everyone to have a great time. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond to make sure you have an unforgettable fishing trip, we highly recommend  Drag Taker Fishing Charter
