Day Five Sportfishing Charters is known on lakes Erie and Ontario as a top guide for Yellow Perch and walleye as the crew has many limited out days. Nicknamed “Captain Perch”, Captain Brent Snyder is your safe bet for a fun day of the water and a cooler full of fish. Starting out of Buffalo, New York, he’ll take you to the best spots whether you want to fish the lakes, the Niagara River, or the area’s reefs and flats. Your journey takes place on a 27’ Hewescraft aluminum fishing boat. It’s powered by 300 HP Suzuki engines, can sit up to 6 anglers, and uses top-class navigation electronics. The boat features a semi-private toilet, air-conditioning, a wireless trolling motor, and 2 ice boxes. Its fishing gear includes outriggers, downriggers, and a livewell. A first mate also joins your trip.

The species you can go after are Brown, Lake, and Rainbow Trout, Walleye, Muskellunge, Yellow Perch, as well as Smallmouth Bass. You’ll use light and heavy tackle bottom fishing, jigging, and drift fishing. You can keep all the fish you catch if you want to. Bring your kids on the trip as well, as the crew loves teaching them how to fish.

Captain Brent provides all the fishing gear, live bait, lures, water, snacks, and lunch. Catch cleaning is available for a small additional fee. The only things you should bring for your trip are fishing licenses, a camera, clothing for the weather, soft shoes, and your smile.

    We will target the toothy charters of the Buffalo Harbor and Lake Erie as well as the upper Niagara River. We will be mostly trolling large baits with rods in hand or in rod holders. With 25-plus pounders being normal, there have been many heavy fish caught, 40 to 60 inches long.

An $80 fuel surcharge will be added at the dock. All perch trips run from April 1 to May 1 and again on September 1 until ice up.

A fuel surcharge will be added at dock at $80.00
