Perfect Weather, Perfect seas, Great Captain (Rich), and plenty of fish in some great spots. 20+ fish including mangrove and yellow tail snapper, a 30+ pound cobia, several other speices, plus multiple lost fish that made a clean get away.... 3 distinct sharks on the lines...a 6foot +/- nurse shark and an 8foot +/- bull shark brought to the boat and released !!! Lost another big shark in the battles ! Could not plan a better day on the water !!!
had a great time, conditions werent the greatest but our guide worked hard to get is on some fish. will be back again.
thanks for the great review John! see you again soon!
Captain was very knowledgeable about fishing
thanks for the great review mark!

Our family of 6 very much enjoyed our fishing trip. Capt. James and Mate Dalton were very outgoing and were attentive to all our needs. They were very quick to bait our hooks and help us (rookies) with our fishing with lots of tips. Within less than 5 minutes of arriving at our first fishing location our youngest member (age 10) made the first catch (yellow fin) - he was thrilled. We fished at our first location for ~1 hour and caught lots of yellow tail, most we kept and a few were too small and were thrown back. Also, I had a big amberjack on the hook and got it back to the boat, but then the line broke and we lost a big one. We then moved to a second location we immediately caught some mutton snapper but then the fish decided not to bite - so we moved to a third location. As we arrived at the third location, we started having some snacks and it was at this time we learned that it is unlucky to bring bananas on a fishing boat (well, at least that was the story Dalton told us and Capt James seconded that tale). In any event, we did catch a mackeral at the third spot and even tho there were lots of fish showing on the screen, none seemed interested in our bait. After trying hard to get some nibbles, our time was up and we headed back to the dock and Capt James cleaned our catch. If we make it back to Marathon on a future trip we would again go on a fishing excursion with Off the Hook. Next time we'll remember to not bring bananas but might bring a pineapple as that is supposedly good luck. Also good luck is to have some whiskey before fishing and one other good luck charm is to throw a crew member overboard (Dalton, you get volunteered !). Thanks to the crew for the memorable trip !
