Fishing with Fern 

Wife and I moved from California to San Antonio, we are carpenter and electrician couple. Decided to go fishing in Aransas Pass, and found Fern as our guide. We caught 7lb redfish, trout and a 20lb Bonnethead Shark. We crossed off everything on our bucket list for a fishing trip. Fern was a solid guide that loves his trade. As a carpenter foreman i look for guys that love there trade and as far as fishing goes Fern loves his trade and it shows in his work. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trip. We will be coming back again and again. Support this Captain and give him his shot, there is not many out there like him.

My wife and son had an incredible guided fishing trip and caught six redfish! The captain was exceptional from start to finish. He even picked them up directly from our private dock, which made everything extremely convenient and gave them more time out on the water. He was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to teach our son some great fishing skills along the way. At the end of the trip, he cleaned all the fish for them as well. It was a memorable experience, and we would absolutely book with him again!

Fish were not cooperating all week but Fern was on top of his game and tried everything in the tackle box. super personable and great guy!

It was a very slow day Fernando was not satisfied until we got Fish. My son caught his first salt water fish!!

Captain Fern knew exactly where to catch fish and ee caught two large redfish.

Captain Fern delivered a great fishing experience. We were concerned about the very windy conditions and the full moon cycle, but he put us on some keepers. He was very attentive and focused on finding fish. Would definitely book him again.

Hello from Houston. We just returned from a weekend trip in Rockport/Aransas Pass to celebrate our Father's 85th Birthday with some beach time and especially Fishing time. We planned this trip months ago and did our homework looking for the right Captain/Guide. After reading the reviews on Capt Fern, we knew that he was the one. Let me tell y'all, he was OUTSTANDING! He was prompt, very patient and extremely professional. His knowledge of the area and his experience as an angler was impressive. He taught us so much about fishing and constantly made sure we were having fun. He was absolutely wonderful (caring and compassionate) with our elderly Father, for which we are so thankful for. Don't look elsewhere folks, he is amazing! We will definately book with him again for our next adventure.

I’m not 1 for reviews. I can count on one hand the number I’ve done in my lifetime but this trip requires one. Captain Fern went out of his way before our trip even started. The weather was iffy all week so he worked with us to find the best day. We went on 3/31 and from the beginning he was the consummate professional. On time, explained the trip and his goals and took care of every detail. He took us to numerous spots, worked different baits, and a picture says a 1000 words so I won’t. My 12 year old had a great time and the 2 older guys did too! Highly recommend Fern for your trip and we will use him again when we return. Thanks for the adventure Fern. Hope to see you again soon!

I highly recommend booking a fishing trip with Fernando. I booked a trip for my husband and he had a lot of fun. Fernando was very informative and knowledgeable. Weather was cold and drizzly but Fernando kept communication and once it was safe to go out the guys left to fish. It was great knowing that Fernando was putting all their safety first and I definitely appreciated that. The guys caught a great amount of fish and my husband enjoyed his trip. Fernando had everything the guys needed for fishing and what they caught was filleted at dock. We will definitely be booking with Fernando when we are in town for our summer trip.

What a good experience on a hard fishing day(not a active fish day with a lot of boats on the water). We went with three kids, 7 -14 age range. They had a great time. Captain Fern works very well with everyone, and is super patient(thank you!!!). We got two black drum right away, but then had to hunt around for some redfish, and he found some. Even scored one random trout! He has knowledge of the area, knows how to find fish. Combine that with friendly disposition and you have a great guide. Thank you Captain Fern!!!
