Specializing in light tackle inshore fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and Tangier Sound, Last Cast Charters has a trip planned for you! Whether you are down vacationing for a week or month, you owe it to yourself and your family to come see the pristine beauty that this area offers. We are located about 45 minutes from (Chincoteague) and about 1 hour from (Ocean City). The location is surrounded by endless miles of marshes, creeks, islands, and guts where nature abounds and where you will see what truly makes the Eastern Shore so special. Captain Jon Webster operates in Crisfield, Maryland and targets many types and species of fish depending on the time of the year and local water conditions. He uses modern electronics coupled with the finest available fishing equipment to make your day out on the water enjoyable as well as successful.
Captain Jon fishes aboard a 23' Parker pilothouse boat that sits up to 3 anglers. It runs on a 250 HP Yamaha engine, uses the latest Garmin navigation technology, and is equipped with a livewell. The boat features a Rhodan trolling motor and a YETI ice-box.
On your trip, you can expect to be casting, jigging, fishing top water, fishing Live or cut bait and or fly fishing for Striped Bass, White Perch, Flounder, Cobia, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, and other species. You can keep the fish you catch but the captain encourages releasing. Also, kids are always welcome aboard.
Captain Jon will provide all the fishing gear you will need, including that for fly fishing. You are also covered for water and licenses, so you should bring nothing but some snacks. Fish cleaning is also available, just tell the captain before the trip.

6 Hour Trip – Tangier Slam Fishing on June 30, 2025 • 3 adults • 1 childWe recently booked a 6-hour fishing trip with Captain Jon, starting from the dock at Jane Island State Park. From the moment he picked us up, it was clear that we were in for a great day. Captain Jon began the trip by teaching everyone the basics of fishing techniques while we were still on the boat. His enthusiasm and expertise made it easy for both beginners and experienced anglers to feel comfortable. The kids particularly enjoyed the lessons and learned a lot about fishing, which made the experience even more memorable for them. Throughout the trip, we had great luck catching strip bass and perch, thanks to Captain Jon's guidance and knowledge of the best spots. 8 Hour Trip – Inshore Fishing on June 19, 2024Went out with Captain Jon for two half day trips. Had a great time fishing on both days. First day Captain Jon put us on blitzing blue fish for most of the trip. Lots of great action and we were totally exhausted at the end of that trip. The second day we worked the inshore shallows for rockfish and speckled trout. We limited out on rockfish and added a few speckled trout to the cooler. Captain John was great. He’s an extremely experienced angler and very knowledgeable of the area. He had us well equipped and locked and loaded for the days fishing battles.

on August 17, 2023We had an awesome experience with Capt. Jon Webster. He is such a friendly and knowledgeable captain, we were truly impressed. He accommodated our schedule and designed the trip around teaching our 10yr son the most during the trip. The boat was clean and filled with gear and Capt Jon answered all the non-stop questions a 10yr can ask. We had non-stop bites so no one was bored and released all the undersized catches. Capt Jon later cleaned the catch for us and also have us some crab legs he caught earlier in the day. Awesome person and awesome trip. Will be looking him up in future trips to Crisfied, MD for sure.

Booked an 8 hr. inshore trip with Jon for myself, my wife, and teenage son. Jon clearly knows the area, the waters, and where the fish are. His Coast Guard experience and a lifetime of boating/fishing clearly show in his handing of his boat and the gear. While the rockfish and blues weren't cooperating that day due to less than ideal conditions coming off of a long heat wave, Jon was determined to make a memorable experience for my son and wife (both saltwater newbies); and it was. Can't beat a largely bug-free day of fishing with an excellent guide, bringing home some great tasting fish, and having lunch on Tangier Island to boot! A wonderful part of our annual vacation that we hope to repeat next year... and we're also looking at making an additional trip with Jon in the fall.

Our captain was fantastic! Great communication up until the fishing trip. The boat was perfect for my two sons and I. We hit a bunch of different spots and went “catching” that day. Awesome four hour trip. I would highly recommend, and I am looking forward to a trip next Memorial Day weekend. Thank you!

Captain Jon started Last Cast Charter Fishing in 2016. Originally born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he grew up on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. At the age of 14, Captain Jon developed a passion for fishing and ended up purchasing his first boat with money he had earned from working on local farms. At the age of 17, immediately after high school, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. During his time in the Coast Guard, he earned his Coast Guard Master License. He has spent a total of 21 years in the service operating boats designed for heavy weather and surf conditions and successfully retired in 2015. Captain Jon has owned several personal boats and has run successfully an offshore charter fishing business and an inshore business. The captain holds a USCG Master License and an MD guide License. He has a lifelong passion for the water and enjoys fishing, hunting, and crabbing. He will work hard to try and help make your trip a memorable one.
