If you’re looking to have a fun-filled fishing experience in South Texas, Coastal Charters is your safe bet. Come to Port Aransas and meet Captain Danny Dorman, a lifelong angler with vast experience on the water and an even bigger desire to share the beauty of fishing with you. You can stay inshore as well as travel offshore and explore the famous Gulf of Mexico. Either way, you’ll have a memorable time catching interesting fish and enjoying beautiful sights. Pick your day and join Coastal Charters for a trip you won’t soon forget!

You’ll fish from the “Blackjack”, a 36’ Yellowfin center console that can easily fit up to 6 anglers. This mighty boat is powered by three 275 HP Mercury Verdo engines, rigged with full-feature navigation electronics, and equipped with outriggers. There’s a portable toilet you can use, an ice-box to store your catch, and also a livewell for keeping live bait. A first mate will be at your disposal should you need any help during the trip.

The wide range of species you can catch includes Blackfin Tuna, Blue and White Marlin, Tiger Shark, Mahi Mahi, Lane and Red Snapper, and more. To attract them, you can bottom and deep sea fish, troll, spin, and jig. The captain welcomes all the kids aboard and you’re free to keep the fish you catch.

All the fishing equipment will be ready when you arrive on board. This includes fishing rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. You’ll need your fishing licenses as well as some snacks and drinks.

Hop aboard “Blackjack” and have a memorable time with Coastal Charters!

Richard and Justin Hall were amazing guides
4 Hour Trip (AM) on June 28, 20255 adults1 child
Just an amazing day of fishing with Richard and Justin Hall who were very knowledgeable and experienced for our Bay fishing trip. We caught lots of drum, red, trout and even flounder. They were amazing Captains for small kids too. Definitely recommend for fishing Port Aransas and the Aransas Pass and Rockport Bay Area!

4 Hour Trip (AM) on July 15, 20256 adults
Our trip was booked for 7 am but was double booked and we were pushed to afternoon. We went ahead even though it was not what we wanted. Captain was nice and friendly but was quick with excuses why he was late for pickup. Then it took a long time to leave bc the boat wasn’t fueled. When we finally took off, he was very friendly and kind, but made it obvious he wanted to get to spot, catch our limit and go home. The chop was awful, and ended up ruining trip for multiple people. Traveled for 2.5 hours of 4 hr trip to get to spot bc of how bad seas were. He definitely put us on fish however, were there for less than 15 minutes, caught 3 and lost 2. Just wasn’t worth being beat to crap by waves for so long. It wasn’t the captains fault for any of it. Biggest frustration was being bumped after paying such a premium. $1500 for a trip should get us what we asked for, not the scraps. The owner reached out at 7 pm the day before blaming the mix up on people in India and not concerned at all with what was being done to us and our vacation. We rolled with it, only to have them be late, infield at pickup, and complaining how expensive bait was. We paid a premium, and didn’t get anything close to expectations. Captain was incredibly nice, and patient after we had a couple people from our party have serious comfort issues out on water. When arriving to dock after trip, owner again seemed to not care at all for what we were out through on booking only worried about getting payment, giving us a sour taste in mouth after a fishing trip that was less than ideal. Boat wasn’t fine, Captain was very nice and friendly, knew exactly where to go to catch them even though it was a miserable trip getting there. Dealt with our issues, and never made us feel bad or like a burden for such short fishing time. Felt like trip was overpriced, but delivered fish, so I won’t say don’t go. Just disappointed for the extremely high cost of booking.
