Sport Fishing Mahimahi Ixtapa
Spend the day with Sport Fishing Mahimahi Ixtapa and let them show you what makes the fishing in Zihuatanejo so memorable! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Luis can tell you all about the local fishery.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Cero Mackerel, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Jack Crevalle, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Roosterfish, and whatever else takes the bait.
For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Luis also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Your adventure begins aboard a 25’ Skiff that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don’t leave home without sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Sport Fishing Mahimahi Ixtapa will make it easy for you to go fishing in Zihuatanejo. So, how about booking that trip?
