Ruff’s Fishing Charters 

Ruff’s Fishing Charters promises a day full of fishing and fun in the Gulf of Mexico. Meet Captain Jonathan Ruffin in Venice, LA, and discover the area’s beautiful offshore waters full of many different species waiting to be caught. The captain will know where the hotspots are and will do his best to provide an enjoyable and productive trip. Choose a date and join him aboard for your next fishing adventure in the Bayou State!

The boat you’ll be fishing from is a 32’ Contender center console big enough to comfortably take up to 5 anglers. The boat runs on twin 300 HP Suzuki engines that can reach speeds of 45 knots.

As for the fish species you can catch on your trip, there’s plenty of choice. You can expect to encounter Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Scamp Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, and Yellowfin Tuna, depending on the season. The choice is even bigger when it comes to the techniques you can use to attract and catch these prized species. You can utilize light tackle and heavy tackle to try bottom fishing, big game fishing, trolling, spinning, jigging, popping, as well as drift fishing.

Capt. Jonathan will take care of all the fishing rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. If you decide to keep your catch, the captain can even clean and fillet it for you at the end of the trip at no extra charge, although tips are welcome. Kids are welcome to join aboard, so there’s fun for the whole family!

A note from the captain: fuel cost is not included in the price. This is usually $400-$700 depending on fuel prices and what you fish for.
