For Captain Jason Black, it’s beyond important that he gives his all, and he hopes to exceed the expectations of everyone aboard! He takes pride in having excellent-quality gear, the latest navigation and fishfinder technology, as well as a clean boat. With almost 20 years of experience as a teacher, Capt. Jason loves to educate everyone about fishing, especially children. Join him aboard and have a memorable fishing adventure in the Lone Star state!
The boat you’ll be using is a restored 27’ Regency pontoon that can sit up to 8 guests. The vessel provides plenty of room for everybody to fish and not feel cramped. Powered by a 250 HP Mercury Verado four-stroke engine, it will quickly take you to the fishing grounds.
Capt. Jason guides primarily for Catfish and uses many different techniques to attract them. You’re welcome to catch and release or keep the full legal limit. If you choose to keep your fish, the captain will be happy to clean it for you so you can take some delicious fish fillets home to cook up!
The captain also guides for Carp and Buffalo (European-style). Most of these trips are done from the bank, but he will often boat to an area suitable to fish from the bank. This kind of fishing guarantees action and a different kind of experience. It even made the captain’s wife change her mind and fall in love with fishing! Feel free to ask more about this style – the captain is happy to tell you.
You’re covered for all the fishing tackle and bait. But before you come aboard, you’ll need to make sure to have your TX fishing licenses and some snacks and drinks.

Tons of catfish
5 Hour Trip – Catfish (AM) on December 27, 2024
Jason was a great guide, and we had one of the best fishing trips I’ve ever had with him on Lake Conroe fishing for catfish. We had 7 of us on the boat, and we caught 100+ catfish in the morning and kept about 60 for a delicious fish fry. At the end of the day, we caught a 40lb catfish that got hooked on four of our rods at the same time and we all pulled him in. Good times!

Awesome Fishing Experience

I love fishing. The main reason for the trip was too celebrate the grandchildren birthday and too get them into fising. Jason went above and beyond to provide us with a awesome fishing experience. He was very attentive to the kids, he provided them, me and my wife with good tips which helped us too land plenty of fish. I highly recommend him !!!

Great Guide,nice clean boat with quality tackle. He not only put us on fish, but connected with my 3 grandkids. He gave them pointers on how to fish so they caught more and then showed them how to clean them. We took home 72 nice catfish ! The kids can’t wait to go again !!!

Jason was excellent. He helped us learn how to fish since it was our first time. He also gave us a tour around the lake, accommodated the kids in the extreme heat and he was kind. I would definitely recommend him and I will be going back to him soon.
