Good fishing trip on a day of rough seas
Full Day Trip – All Inclusive on June 18, 2025
My girlfriend and I went out on a 8hr fishing trip on a day of rough seas, and few boats landing any fish. The first part of the trip started out shaky, with us going out 15-20 miles off shore in hopes of hooking up to some marlin. For the first three hours we spent it trolling lures on the top of the water with only one line in the water with actual bait on the hook. Which I thought was surprising. Typically I’m used to fishing with live bait at all times, if deep sea fishing. My girlfriend ended up hooking a shark about three hours into the trip, which we thought was a good sign and hoped that we might be getting more bites sooner rather than later. About an hour or hour and a half later, the captain and deck hand spotted a marlin cruising on the top of the water. I will note we didn’t spot marlin until we started to come further in shore from the 20 miles we ventured out for originally. We hooked on to the marlin and had a good thirty - forty-five minute fight with a 100lb + marlin. Shortly after pulling the fish on board, snapping a picture, and releasing it, the captain and deck hand spotted another marlin. The deck hand cast the live bait near the marlin, and we were hooked up again. This time my girlfriend was next to fight the fish and after seeing me wrestle with my hundred pound marlin, she was nervous to do the same. Leaving some slack on the line and the marlin threw the hook after a few jumps. Overall good fishing trip. I wish we would’ve caught more fish giving the amount of time we booked. Maybe next time stay closer to shore if the seas are rough, but I will say we were one of two boats who caught anything that morning. I’d recommend fishing with these guys again.

Amazing trip beyond just fishing
5Hrs All Inclusive + Transfer (PM) on April 9, 2025
We had an amazing time. I would do it again tomorrow if I could. It was two adults and a 7 year old. They took the time to talk about the type of fish we could catch, bait, etc. It was nice they asked for our preference on type of fishing and also to let us know what other boats were catching (or not). We were hooked up on the first fish in under 20 mins and my son and I had the chance to sit side by side with two fish on at the same time. Amazing! We had a lot more action. They let my son drive the boat with the captain and when we headed back in had seals drop in to explore. The sites were amazing and the captain and first hand were great. I went through all the reviews from the different charter boats and decided on booking Blue Tail II for my wife and me for 8hrs. It turned out to be a great decision. Thanks to Captain Juan and 1st Mate Freddy, I caught my first Striped Marlin! It was quite the fight. I have lung problems and most kinds of exertion makes breathing difficult, but thanks to the expert help from Freddy and the perfect boat maneuvering from Captain Juan, I was able to bring that awesome fighting Marlin in! I highly recommend getting aboard the Blue Tail II with Captain Juan and Freddy if you want to catch some fish! Their decades of experience won't let you down!!

Half Day Trip – All Inclusive (PM) on February 3, 2025
The boat crew was fantastic. We honestly did more whale watching than fishing. How could you not though, with so many humpback whales swimming everywhere along the coast. Even the crew was getting excited because there were so many. Then we had some great fishing. Caught a rooster fish and some skipjack tuna. We released them all, but the reeling in was the funnest part. The notifications and communication we received from the captain before the day was outstanding. He told me the best place to park and warned us not to talk to any of the street vendors. Excellent advice because there were so many down by the docks. Would highly recommend this company!

Pick up was on time, Captain Juan and Freddy gave us a chance to get snacks and coffee before an early fishing excursion. They put us on fish immediately and we caught fish throughout morning from King mackerel, mahi-mahi, and roosters, as well as some great sun rays! We got plenty of food, snacks and beverages, although you can always have a few more beers-lol! We would highly recommend this crew! Those new to off shore fishing and as well as the skilled fisherman will come away with an awesome experience as they did an excellent job accommodating each persons skills giving us a wonderful fishing experience!
