Want to fish more than 9 miles offshore? Want to experience fishing without seeing land? Contact us. There are a limited number of vessels with the required permits to take you beyond the 9 mile boundary. We have those permits. The majority of our trips begin at least 10 miles offshore.
We also offer a nearshore option for those less inclined to fish far offshore. Explore the Sunshine Skyway bridge and local area on our 3 hr nearshore fishing trip.
Thermocline Charters is located in St Pete, Port Richey, and Clearwater Florida. This charter departs from the Ft Desoto boat ramp.
You'll be fishing from a 27' ProKat catamaran powered with twin 300hp outboards. We're licensed to accommodate up to 6 anglers.
Capt. Dave will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. We offer 3, 5, 10, and 12 hour trips, mainly fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Trigger Fish, Amberjack, etc. depending on the season and conditions of the day.
On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and jigging..
This sea-worthy vessel has a cooler for food and drinks, in-floor coolers for fish, state-of-the-art electronics with navigation, radar, and sonar. It's also equipped with a trolling motor to anchor you precisely over the fishing spots.
The price of your trip includes your fishing license for the day, all the rods, reels, bait, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water.
You're welcome to keep anything you catch as long as the species is in season. We'll fillet and bag your catch at no additional cost.

4 Hour Offshore Trip on October 9, 2023 • 2 adultsMy friend and I surprised our husbands with a (first time) fishing trip with captain David. From start to finish, captain David was helpful, informative, extremely knowledgeable and his boat was nice and clean. Within the first 5 minutes of the trip, they were already getting bites, they caught so many different kinds of fish and captain David (and his first mate) knew every fish and provided information on the fish that they were catching. They only did a 4 hour trip but wished they went longer. Next time we are visiting Florida we will definitely be booking another trip!! I highly recommend this charter!!! 100/10 experience

12 Hour Trip – Offshore on July 19, 2022If you looking for a charter this is the one to go on!Capt David definitely spared no expenses on this boat. Top of the line simrad electronics loaded with cmor,strike lines,and navionics platinum plus brand new twin susuki motors and rhodan gps trolling motor.All on a smooth riding catamaran hull with extra shade for the hot days.. Great way to spend a day and fill up your freezer.Def check him out

12 Hour Trip – Offshore on June 18, 2022Captain Dave and his son David were great. We loaded up on tons of grouper and snapper. Captain Dave took us out for an all day trip and it was super fun. I would recommend his trip to anyone looking for a great fishing adventure

The guys loved it!!! They caught a shark! And they were so excited that they focused on the filming of it and ended up snapping the line!
