Captain Fred Laager runs his trips out of the lovely St. Augustine and Palm Coast estuaries, places known locally for their excellent productivity (and a great view to boot!). Join him aboard his 22' flats boat, along with your best fishing buddy; she can hold up to 3 anglers in comfort at the same time. The boat was manufactured by Pathfinder, and powered by a 200 HP Suzuki outboard engine – she'll take you to the hottest fishing spots in no time.
Capt. Fred will take you after a wide range of gorgeous inshore species. If you're looking for a fight the local Bull Redfish are happy to oblige! Bottom fishermen will be happy to know that the Flounder in this area is fantastic. Other species you'll go after are Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, as well as anything you may run into. Capt. Fred can even take you fly fishing, though you'll have to provide your own equipment.
The charter will supply you with all the required fishing equipment, as well as fishing licenses. All you have to do is bring sunscreen and a camera to take pictures of your trophy catch! If you want to use live bait you can, it will stay active and appetizing long after it's caught thanks to the onboard live bait well.

CAPT Dave is a really nice guy and knows the waters around St Augustine like the back of his hand. We landed a couple really nice fish. We should have had a few more in the live well but they got off right at the boat. That's fishing though and we will definitely book another trip with CAPT Fred. Thanks CAPT Fred, we will try to cast closer to the grass next time. LOL.

We had an excellent trip with Shallow Water Fishing Company and Captain Fred out of St. Augustine. Parking and launching were easy, and the fishing was fun from start to finish. We caught a wide variety of species, including flounder, trout, redfish, and even saltwater catfish. We used everything from shrimp and mud minnows to artificial lures, live bait with popping corks, and even spent time fly fishing. The Pathfinder 2200 provided an incredibly smooth ride, and Captain Fred made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. He was patient, knowledgeable, and easy to fish with helping us cast, rig rods, bait hooks, and offered great insight on where to cast at each location. We fished multiple spots throughout the day, enjoyed great music, cold drinks, and had an all-around fantastic time on the water. It was a memorable trip. Already looking forward to booking another trip with Shallow Water Fishing Trips in the future.
