Captain Joe Truitt is a fully licensed and insured fishing guide serving the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia.
With more than 40 years of fishing experience on the Eastern Shore, Captain Joe has spent decades learning the local waters, seasonal fish movements, tides, structure, and techniques that help put anglers on fish.
Reel Adventures operates a 21-foot Parker center console that is trailered, giving Captain Joe the flexibility to move with the fish and changing conditions. We fish the coastal bays and inshore waters around Chincoteague as well as the Chesapeake Bay, depending on the season and target species.
Our trips range from family-friendly coastal bay fishing for Flounder to Chesapeake Bay trips targeting Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Rockfish and other species. We also offer near-shore wreck fishing when conditions and seasons allow.
Captain Joe especially enjoys family and youth trips. Teaching young anglers and helping people catch their first fish, biggest fish, or a fish they will remember for years is what makes charter fishing worthwhile.
Whether you're an experienced fisherman or someone picking up a rod for the first time, Captain Joe will work hard to make your trip productive, comfortable, and enjoyable.

What a great fishing trip! captain Joe with Reel Adventures was more than accommodating when our planned morning trip got rained out he didn't hesitate and offered to fish that afternoon. Joe was very knowledgeable with fishing techniques and was quick to rig and help re bait our lines. he did great putting us on the fish!! we wanted to catch flounder and we did do that! we landed over a dozen flounder! i definitely plan to book another trip!

Captain Joe did an excellent job getting us on some good flounder. My 6 and 8 year old had a great time and we highly recommend him! He is extemely friendly and knows where to find the fish. We will definitely book him again when we are back in Chincoteague!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
