If you're ready to have fun fishing around Charlotte NC, we've got you covered with Captain Jake’s Guide Service. Having logged many hours on these lakes, Captain Jake knows them forwards and back. He offers guided fishing trips on Lake Wateree and Lake Wylie.
You will go after Striped Bass, Catfish or Crappie depending on your trip.
Children are welcome, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 2022 24' Sportsman center console with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods, reels and bait.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a SC freshwater fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, a cooler for your catch, and sunblock. There will be a cooler full of ice for drinks and snacks.

3 hour trip Lake Wylie
Great birthday trip!
We took our son on the 3 hour trip for his 8th birthday with Jake and it was a blast! Jake’s boat was extremely clean and we were thrilled to find out that it had an enclosure with heat! It was only 43 degrees when we headed out so it would have been chilly! He managed my excited 8 and 5 year old boys with ease and we had a great experience! The boys landed lots of crappie, perch, and catfish! Our 5 year old is already requesting this for his birthday in March!

Thanks Captain Jake! My family had been begging for a fishing trip on their recent visit to the Carolinas. Acting on a whim, I reached out to this service owned by Captain Jake Fishing Service. Although it was not the best choice for us regarding the time of day and weather(it was mid day during the heatwave) we all caught fish-which was the point. The trip was a little on the pricey side based on my experience with booking fishing charters, although I have no regrets because we made family memories.

Jake provided an awesome fishing experience!! He responded to all questions/inquiries quickly prior to the date of the fishing trip. Jake was very knowledgeable and friendly! Great time Fishing on Wylie
Jake was very experienced in fishing, boating and a great host. Puts you on big fish and knows the lake and all the spots. Bring a large cooler if you go out with Jake! Highly recommend for anyone that’s looking for a great day fishing with a great captain. Huge boat plenty of seating and comfy seats(you’ll hardly be seated with the amount of fish you’re catching) 10/10 thank you Jake!

3/4 Day Trip – Lake Wylie
Huge Catfish, Lots of Crappie - Family Friendly & Professional
We had an awesome time fishing Lake Wylie in the Carolinas with Captain Jake! We caught the largest catfish any of us has ever caught, a ton of Crappie and Perch and we had a great time doing it. There was not a dull moment!! I'd recommend Captain Jake to anyone looking for a good time catching a lot of fish! He definitely puts the time in to know where they are. He is also very nice, friendly and professional! He gave our teenagers sons lots of tips for fishing the Carolina inland lakes. Thanks for the awesome day of fishing Jake!!!
