Running angling trips out of Puerto Vallarta, Viento Negro invites you to check out the local fishery in style.

The Captain will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and jigging all to get you on that bite. This involves 6-hour trips, mainly fishing for Dolphin, Sailfish, Marlin, Jack Crevalle, Roosterfish, and Bonito, depending on the season and conditions on the day.

You’ll be fishing from a 24’ Nava boat with enough room for up to 4 anglers at any single time.

The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water. Fishing licenses aren’t included, so make sure to get them prior to the trip.

You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

There will be complimentary drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks if you prefer.

This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

A Great Puerto Vallarta Experience

VERIFIED

Half Day Trip on August 14, 2023

My son and I had a wonderful time out at sea in Puerto Vallarta. Firstly, by the time we got to Puerto Iguana at about 6:30 AM for our 7 AM departure Captain Diego Garcia and crew were already there with the boat ready to go. They were very courteous, sociable and comfortable to work with. We caught a few fish which my wife was happy to prepare for us. My son was especially excited to land a couple, including a sizeable Jack. I will most certainly be looking to book with Viento Negro the next time I am in Puerto Vallarta.

Half day with Eli

VERIFIED

Half Day Trip on January 24, 2023

I had a good morning with my Captain Eli. Very personable and easy to talk with. Spent the morning trolling, unfortunately was not successful on fishing. We did see two different pods of whales. The boat was not luxurious but certainly was a good sized fishing boat. A bit more bare bones but had what was needed. I was not looking for a luxurious experience as I was just wanting to get out. I did ask about spearfishing, and to be clear I am a complete novice. I have snorkelled but never speared. I was told to bring my wet suit and everything else would be provided. From a gear perspective there was there was a spear but no snorkels or flippers. My captain after a quick discussion about my experience felt it was unsafe to let me just take a spear and go for it, which I appreciated his concern for my safety. It would have been more feasible if another instructor/free diver was also along to help me ID fish, safety, techniques, etc…. I feel like more questions prior to the trip would have helped in providing an experience spear fishing. I would have paid more for a second guy if that would have gotten me in the water. If you are booking for spearfishing just ask more questions. I can’t complain about the quality of my Captain on the day, his concern for safety or the day of fishing we did do. I choose this charter for the daily rate. This was my first time fishing the ocean and using a charter so I have nothing to compare it too.
