Running angling trips out of Key Largo, Checknout Sportfishing invites you to check out the local fishery in style.
Capt. Michael aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and spinning. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Dolphin, Snapper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Barracuda, and Grouper, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 36’ Yellowfin boat that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat features a toilet.
When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it.
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

Half Day Trip
Half day trip with Captain Michael
Great guy not so great experience! Small unorthodox boat for deep sea fishing and had no cabin or shade, spent nearly 90 minutes fishing for live bait fish... never in 15 fishtrips have I ever had a captain do this, especially on a half day. Finally, no deck hand, cap only and 4 of us so he only put 2 lines out. Slowed things down considerably and when we hit a hot spot, could not move quick enough to catch more than one... would not recommend, another fishing captain looking to keep all profits no matter the cost to the customers. Should have been half the price!
