Southern Tides Fishing Charters
Southern Tides Fishing Charters runs angling trips out of Cedar Point and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Jacob aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! On your trips, you will be catching fish using light tackle. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, and Sheepshead depending on the weather and time of year.
Your adventure begins on board a 24’ Carolina Skiff boat that can fit a maximum of 6 anglers.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it.
You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.
Here to help you with anything you need, the first mate will be on hand during the trip. Leaving a tip for a job well done is much appreciated.
The boat will be supplied with water for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own refreshments.
Children are welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.

Afternoon Half Day Trip
Best LIVE BAIT inshore fishing!
We’ve had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Jacob multiple times around Swansboro and the White River, and every trip has been exceptional. What truly sets him apart is his mastery of live bait. He showed up with hundreds of LIVE SHRIMP — the best bait in the ocean — and we caught fish when no one else could. That kind of preparation makes all the difference. If you've ever bought live shrimp, you know it would cost more to buy the shrimp than pay for the charter. Jacob knows these waters like the back of his hand — from hidden ledges and oyster bars to deep holes that hold the big ones. Afternoon Half Day Trip
Unforgettable fishing experience
I can’t say enough good things about Jacob! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. He was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also super friendly and made the entire trip enjoyable and relaxed. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable — perfect for both seasoned anglers and first-timers. We started out kinda slow but we ended up catching way more than we expected, everyone on the boat caught multiple! Jacob made sure everyone was involved and having fun, offering help and tips without being overbearing. He clearly knew the best spots and how to read the water. If you’re looking for a professional, fun, and rewarding fishing trip, this is the charter to book. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!

Great time on fishing outing with Captain Jacob
Jacob did a great job with us fishing newbies. He was very patient and he kept our 5 lines baited and was a spot on caster. In his spare time, he put out his own larger lines in search of shark. We had the experience of seeing a stingray and black tip shark reeled in. Captain Jacob was great with our younger 10 & 12 year olds. He knew all the areas around the White Oak River and in the sound to find the fish. Caught a lot of flounder we had to release, and lost some red drums who outsmarted us newbies. Still ended up with about 5 lbs of fillets that Jacob cut up for us. It was a great family experience — would do it again.

A Great Day Fishing
Jacob is excellent! Right off he put us on the fish. It was a great day spent with him. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent captain. We caught some nice sized redfish and lots of sea trout and a flounder. Unfortunately we couldn't keep the trout or flounder. I will definitely be booking with him again in the future!!

Morning Half Day Trip
Great birthday gift
There were 5 of us on the trip, including an 8 year old and a 10 year old. Jacob did a great job keeping their lines baited, netting the fish, and overall making this a fun trip for everyone on board. We even spotted some dolphins at the end of the trip and he stopped so pictures and videos could be taken of them. We caught fish, kept a couple and they were filleted for us as at the end of the trip. Taking my family and grandkids out on this trip was a perfect birthday present for me !

Jacob is excellent! Right off he put us on the fish. It was a great day spent with him. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent captain.
