If you're going fishing in Virginia Beach, look no further than Why Knot Charters for your adventure. Captain Rick has over 40 years of experience fishing these waters and after retiring in 2020 decided this is where he needed to be.

These waters are known for many shipwrecks and structure that hold Black Sea Bass, Tautog, Tilefish, Flounder, Gray Triggerfish and more and with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. For these species, you're likely to troll, jig and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Bring your favorite snacks, lunch and drinks aboard and we will furnish a cooler with ice for them.

Your vessel for the day is a legendary 26' Regulator center console known for its comfortable and dry ride that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, built in coolers, comfortable seating and a flushable head as well as everything you need for a productive day on the water.

Your captain will provide rods and reels, lures, live and dead bait and everything else you need for successful day on the water. Your catch will be immediately iced down in our mammoth 700-quart, below-deck, fish box. Fish cleaning is available for a small additional fee.

We may employee a First Mate to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 20-25% tip.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

It's always wise to bring foul weather gear, sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now, come aboard with Why Knot Charters and get Hooked!!

12 Hour Trip – Deep Dropping

Great Fishing….

VERIFIED

It was my first trip on Why Knot Charter. I saw a good reviews and had to get on it to see it for myself. Well, Captain did not disappoint us. We limited out on the seabass in few hours and moved on to the spade fishing. When we got there, no one was catching anything except few spear fisherman which maybe scarring the fishes. That didn’t stop the captain and the mate. They were constantly re-rigging and casting to position the rods to catch the spades. Finally we were on the fish and started to pluck them away and even caught one over 10lb. Funny thing was that we were the only boat catching at that time and no one else was catching. My son asked me why is that and I said to him because THEY ARE NOT WHY KNOT CHARTERS. We had a good laughs and it was a great way to end the trip. I highly recommend to give Why Knot Chartes for your next fishing trip.
