Excited to catch some fish in Rockport? Matt’s Fishing Adventures is your ticket! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Matt knows them forwards and back.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and whatever else is biting. You’ll get to keep any legal fish you catch, and the captain will clean it for you.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 24’ El Pescador boat with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you’ll need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
It’s recommended to bring bottled water, sunblock, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

So awesome we booked a second trip the following morning

Let me just say the odds of not catching fish is slim to none… however it would be just our luck some weird weather stuff had some effect on the reds we were running down for our AM charter and they flat out were just not eating. This didn’t bother my husband and I but for our 3 boys ages 15, 11 & 9, they were quickly becoming discouraged and bored. Captain Matt reassured them he had no problem staying out past our 5 hr time slot to find the fish. I’m sure fishing with 2 people is fairly simple, but fishing with a family of 5 with the big differences in age and experience, and being able to cater to each of us is something entirely different and worth acknowledging not to mention the patience he exercised with the 2 younger ones! By the end of the day we had fished to our hearts content, for the day, and before he filleted our fish, we booked for the next AM charter the following morning to run down some black drum. Worth every penny and every moment we spent on the water. Thank you for the experience and the family memories we made!

Capt Matt went above and beyond in making this fishing adventure truly memorable for me and the family. He put us on the fish almost immediately. We wound up with over 30 pounds of redfish fillets for the freezer and my son was able to land a 60 pound alligator gar. I would highly recommend Matt as your captain. I cannot wait to go back and book with him again. Thank you, Captain Matt!

What a great day with Captain Matt!!!! We had are limit of Red Fish by 9:30!!! Mat even took us to try get some Black Drum. His knowledge of the area and the habits of the fish were second to NONE....I have found my go to Guide for this area!!!! See you in October!!!!

It was a windy day and tough fishing. Matt never stopped battling and trying to put us on fish. I thought we were looking at only a couple of fish. We ended up nearly limiting out despite less than ideal conditions.

Matt had to work hard for us. Conditions were not in our favor with two young boaters onboard. Matt adapted to the situations and we still had a great time. We caught some great fish and we will be booking with him again
