Depending on conditions, you might hook into Cero Mackerel, Coral Trout, Flathead, African Pompano Jack, Black Marlin, Nannygai, Queenfish, Sailfish, Red Emperor Snapper, and whatever else is biting. You may find yourself spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or something more specialized in this area. The fish caught are yours to take home, so long as they’re within the legal limit. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!
These shared trips are all about a family-friendly fishing experience. Whether you’re a family, a group of mates, or a single person, we will do our very best to make your time with us unforgettable. Being a small size boat, it is very easy to customize your time exactly how you want. Just let us know when you book, please. The captain will have snacks and drinks available on board.
You’ll be dropping lines from a 20’ Center console that can carry up to 5 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this, so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

3/4 Day Trip – Shared on January 14, 2025
Get out and about were perfect for exactly what my partner and I were looking for. Skipper Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and answered any of our questions, targeting exactly what we wanted to do throughout the 3/4 day charter. We caught fish nonstop and had plenty to take home. The 6 hour trip was our highlight of Airlie Beach, not only did we get to get out fishing but got so much value out of Andrew pointing out landmarks and speaking about the area. Such a top bloke. Great value for money and inclusive of all onboard. Would definitely recommend and return for another fishing trip.

I had the pleasure of spending the day on a fishing charter with Captain Andrew, and it was truly a memorable experience. From start to finish, his local knowledge and passion for fishing were evident, and he went above and beyond to ensure my 9-year-old son and I had the best time. Andrew put so much effort into helping us get on fish all day, patiently guiding my son and making sure we both had plenty of action and laughs along the way. He was fantastic company and so easy to get along with. This trip was not just about catching fish, it was about creating a special memory for my son and me and Andrew made that happen. If I were staying here longer, I wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip with him. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great fishing experience with someone who clearly loves what they do. We had such a wonderful experience with Captain Andrew. He is an exceptionally capable guide, very knowledgeable….and was very patient with our two children, ages 12 and 14. We had a great day, and our 14yo daughter had the big catch with a 10kg trevally! Would highly recommend Get Out & About Whitsundays Fishing & Tours!

We booked a last minute charter cause we were in Australia. The guide was amazing. Great communication before the trip and on the water was very helpful. He put us on the fish and was patient with two ladies.we even got back late cause I was chasing a shark but he was patient and good spirits about it. Thanks again.
