Bluefin Tuna is the hardest fighting fish in the ocean and legendary for not only breaking 130lbs class rods and big game reels but the spirits of grown men. While the species is overfished in some other areas of the world, strict conservation in Canada has allowed the species to thrive. This is one of the best places to meet one of these giants face to face, and who better to do it with than a family of record-breaking Tuna fishermen?
You will be fishing aboard a sturdy 44’ Northshore boat that is more than capable of handling the strain that Tuna fishing can place on a vessel. Equipped with a cozy cabin heated by an oil stove to keep you protected from the elements, this fully inspected boat has all the space and equipment you need to tackle this ultimate sports fishing species.
The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna can grow up to 10 feet in length and 1000 pounds in weight. A warm-blooded species, they are extremely energetic and can reach speeds of up to 30 miles an hour. Come in September or October for your best chance to catch the fish of a lifetime.
The Keus family realize that people will travel great distances to fish for Tuna from Prince Edward Island and offer clean and comfortable cottages to their guests. They feature full kitchens, BBQs, Wi-Fi, and A/C, as well as 4 comfortable beds per cottage.

Full Day Trip
Best Captain and Crew
I had the privilege of fishing with Bruce and his Father for 3 days in September. The fishing was a little slow on the first day, we saw a few but no hook ups. Plenty of mackerel landed for bait and we ended up taking some home for dinner which was amazing!! The second day was windy and cold, there wasn't much going on and we were afraid of not hooking up, but next thing you know we had found the fish. There were hundreds of giant tunas feeding. Many boats were trying to get hooked up with no success and after a few passes, we were starting to get worried. Captain Kor wasn't worried, he positioned the boat perfectly in front of the school and Bruce got the kite bait out at the perfect time and BAM! we were on. After an hour fight, we had a 500lbs fish landed and headed back to port. On the third day, we weren't that concerned with catching one since we had already used our tag the day before. We went out to the herring net and started catching bait, but within minutes, Bruce yelled "BIG FISH" and sent down a herring and we were hooked up again, but this time was different. The fish pulled drag, again and again, wrapping us in other nets, taking us out deep and just sitting on the bottom. I fought this fish for 2 1/2 hours before we had to literally come closer to shore just to keep it off the bottom. Then we finally saw it, IT WAS HUGE, est. 1300lbs and 14-15ft long. The biggest one Bruce and his Father had seen in years. My only regret was we used the tag the day before. We got some pictures and some videos and let it go to breed and live another day. It was the best fishing experience I have ever had with the best crew and captain in the business. I will be making this an annual trip and I have a ton of friends dying to join me. NorthLake Charters with the current 80lbs test world record holders is the only boat to charter. You won't regret it!!

GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH NORTH LAKE CHARTER
i had a fantastic fishing trip with North Lake Charters late September 2015 with legendary captains Cor and Bruce Keus and mate Josh. My fishing partner and I caught and released 6 giant bluefin tunas in 3 days with one well over 1000 pounds! Great fishing skills, great food and great people. I fished all over the world and have 3 IGFA world records and this was one of my very best fishing trips. I highly recommend North Lake Charters and I will personally renew the experience in 2016.
