Sea Esta Sportfishing
If you’re ready to try fishing in Huntington Beach, we’ve got you covered with Sea Esta Sportfishing.
Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Calico Bass, California Sheephead, Mahi Mahi, Lingcod, White Seabass, Mako Shark, Thresher Shark, Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail Amberjack, and more could be biting, depending on conditions.
On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Matt can also show you kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there’s bowfishing.
Feel free to bring home some of the fish you catch, so long as regulations allow it. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Talk about bang for your buck!
Young ones are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 44’ Pacifica flybridge vessel with space for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate, who’s there to help you fish and keep everyone safe on board. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10%–20% gratuity.
Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask.
Now, time to hit the water with Sea Esta Sportfishing!
