I am Captain Rick Medeiros. Welcome aboard On The Edge, a remarkable modern vessel crafted by Grady-White. Designed for comfort and excitement, she accommodates up to four adults with ease, and up to six if accompanied by children. Completely retrofitted in 2022, On The Edge boasts a powerful, yet quiet Suzuki 300 HP engine. We prioritize safety, ensuring all equipment is current and ready for your journey. Just bring your favorite snacks, drinks, sunscreen (lotion only, please), and a cooler to keep your catch fresh; we will supply the rest, including all necessary licensing, fishing gear and bait.

4 Hour Trip – Kids Special (PM) on July 6, 2025
We just had a great 4 hour fishing trip with On the Edge Charters. It was a windy day so pretty choppy on the water, but Rick was great and made the fishing easy. We caught sea bass and a ton of scups. Had the weather been better we would have gone to another fishing ground but his pivot worked well and we still caught a lot of fish. Rick was responsive and communicated well throughout the process. We would definitely go out with him again in the future and recommend him to anyone looking for a great day fishing out of the Dartmouth/New Bedford area.

4 Hour Trip – Kids Special (AM) on July 7, 2025
Our family had the best time fishing with Captain Rick! He was so helpful to my 10 and 12 year old boys and we caught so many fish the minute we started dropping lines. We ended up with a bunch of keepers! He was super knowledgeable but also just really friendly and made sure we had a really great experience. My 10 year old even caught a sand shark!! My kids were smiling from ear to ear the whole time. We can’t wait to go out again when we come back next year! Thank you Captain Rick!!

My family of five have done many different fishing charters on the Cape and Rick was up there with the greats! From the Grady White to his knowledge of the waters to the fish we caught. It was an all around delivery of a fantastic fishing adventure. All three of my kids caught so many fish as did my wife and I and we all loved cruising the waters with this local and very seasoned fisherman. Highly recommend and can’t wait to book again!!

My family recently had the most amazing experience with On the Edge Charters in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Captain Rick was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the surrounding area, making the entire trip enjoyable and informative. He was particularly amazing with our young children, ensuring they were engaged and safe throughout the adventure. We went on a four-hour charter, and everything was perfect. The boat was pristine and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and pleasant environment. Captain Rick took care of everything, making the experience hassle-free for us. We caught an impressive variety of fish, including Porgy and Black Bass (which we released back into the water as they were out of season and underweight), as well as sand sharks (also safely released) Captain Rick’s expertise and passion for fishing were evident as he shared captivating fishing stories and detailed information about each type of fish we caught. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he kept us entertained throughout the trip. This was by far the best fishing charter we have ever been on. We highly recommend On the Edge Charters and Captain Rick to anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing experience. We can’t wait to go back!
