Trips with Wish Upon A Fish Charters are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children under the age of 6 are required to wear a life jacket while the boat is under way. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your trip begins aboard a 22’ Tidewater bay boat that holds up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
You’ll find rods, reels, live bait and all the proper tackle waiting for you.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Bringing sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses is never a bad idea. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Perfect Family Trip
2 Hr AM Trip - Inshore on April 24, 2025
The top thing my 11 year-old son wanted to do during our trip to Clearwater was to go fishing. We had only gone fishing a few times back home a did one other FL charter four months ago. Captain Ethan was fantastic! He put us right on the fish. In total, me my son and 8 year-old daughter caught 20-25 fish including 4 keepers and one that was too big to keep. Captain Ethan flayed our fish back at the dock. We took them to the restaurant at the hotel we were staying at and the chef cooked them up for us. Very tasty and it only about $30 for them to cook the fish. The two hour trip was perfect for the kids. We all had a blast! Highly recommended Captain Ethan.

Highlight of our entire trip
Half Day-Nearshore on July 26, 2024
Ethan was great!! He came well prepared and was able to accommodate 5 people in our group with a pretty wide range of experience. He would help you put on the bait and unhook caught fish if needed. He came with squid, live shrimp, live bait fish, and shark bait. We went to about 4 different spots and we caught around 40 fish in a span of 4 hours. We got 3 small sharks as well as groupers, trout, sea bass, flounder, pufferfish, toadfish, redfish, lane snappers, mangrove snappers, and more. We also briefly saw some turtles and dolphins. We kept a couple of fish to eat and Ethan helped clean and filter them for us. We also took a quick dip near a sandbar to cool down when it got too hot. The boat ride was pretty calm and no one got sea sick, although a few people took Dramamine just in case. Overall, this was an excellent trip and we loved every minute!!!! 10/10 would recommend.

Extended AM Trip – Inshore on July 17, 2024
My 10 year old son wanted to catch a shark so badly on our trip, I messaged Ethan about it and he did everything in his power to put us on sharks. We hooked 3 different kinds of sharks (lemon, reef and black tip) but only landed 2 of them (lemon and black tip). While waiting for the sharks to bite we caught like 10 different types of fish from grouper to snapper to puffer fish to sea trout and everything in between. He was great with my son and very nice to all of us. I’d consider myself an experienced freshwater angler and I was highly impressed with him. I’d recommend him 10 out of 10 times. I cannot recommend him enough!

We caught trout, mackerel, grouper, a reef shark and a couple other species. Our captain was very friendly and very good at his job, he kept us on the fish and made it an experience to remember. I would highly reccomend him and would definitely go again.

We had a great afternoon with Capt Ethan on his boat. Caught lots of fish, both the tasty variety and the kind that’s just fun to catch. Had lots Spanish Mackerel and Spotted Sea Trout to take home for ceviche and seared filets. I had my 5 Y.O. S son with me and Capt Ethan did a great job taking care of him and his line and helping him out so we could all just focus on fishing. Great trip!
