Nanticoke Outfitters Charter Fishing is always child-friendly, so get them offline and onto the water! Captain Dave has 5 sons of his own, so he's been fishing with kids on a regular basis for the last 20+ years! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, no worries because we have some on board. And you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Your boat for the day is a 26' Custom designed MayCraft center console with space for 6 passengers. We are running a 2024 Suzuki 350hp Outboard Motor with new upholstery, new canvas, and new electronics! You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with bait. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up and fish!
The First Mate (Frank) will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 20% to show your appreciation. Keep in mind that some fish may have size limits or closed seasons. We will help you follow regulations when you fish.
Depending on the trip you select, we will be focused on catching the target species and if they just aren't biting that day or during that particular time of the day, Capt. Dave & Frank will come up with some other ideas in effort to find some fish for you to enjoy hooking into! Sometimes even the best made plans get ruined by things out of our control. We always have a back up plan!
Essentials to bring are sunblock, a hat, drinks, snacks, and sunglasses. Water bottles are included, free of charge, and we have an ice chest filled with ice ready for your food and drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. NO hard liquor, glass bottles, or bananas!

Great first day out on the boat
3 Hr – Assawoman Back Bay (10:15AM) on June 4, 2025
We fished the early afternoon. Everyone caught something, but only one keeper. Captain Dave really worked hard to get us into the fish, moving multiple times to find some action. First Mate Frank had us ready at all times, baiting hooks and fixing snags and retrying lines when needed. I took four of my kids on the fishing trip and Captain Dave and Frank were great with them, teaching and helping while providing great conversation the whole trip. We didn’t even make it to the car and the kids were already talking about wanting to get up at 5am to go out again with Captain Dave to really get into the fish! Very good family atmosphere with the private charter. I can’t imagine having a better experience out on the water. We’ll be out with Captain Dave the next time we are back in town for sure. Many yhanks Nanticoke Outfitters, First Mate Frank and most importantly Captain Dave for giving us an experience we will never forget!

Captain Dave and first mate Frank provided us with a great experience!! They taught us different techniques and took us to multiple fishing spots around the bay yo ensure we'd all have a chance at catching something. My group had so much fun and we're definitely considering coming back next year!

3 Hr – Assawoman Back Bay (10:15AM) on July 26, 2024
Capt Dave was great. He explained everything to us before we set out. We drift fished and caught flounder, croaker, sea bass, and my daughter caught a sea robin (flying fish). Everyone caught something. Capt. Dave set us up in the right spots, navigating tide pull and the wind. My wife, who never catches anything even caught 2. When my daughter got her line tangled in the motor, Capt. Dave and crew calmly fixed the problem even as the tide pulled us toward docks. I would have been freaking out but they were unfazed. After the trip, we asked for some recommendation on a restaurant for dinner. He gave us a great restaurant recommendation as well. If we come back to Ocean City, we will fish with Capt. Dave again.

Great family outing on a rough day
Morning Crabbing Trip -up to 5 hrs on July 10, 2024
Captain Dave and crewmate Frank were fantastic to go out into a he bay with. From setting the pick up location the night before to the end of the trip, they made a wonderful memory for myself and my boys, which was their first time out fishing on a boat. It was a windy day so it made it a little tough to get around, but we made the most of it. We chose the crabbing and fishing combo because we all wanted to set traps and catch crabs since we never have done that before. We got right in a placed the pots and picked them up. The kids loved doing that. The fish starting biting quick but it also quickly cooled off and we unfortunately ended up with only one keeper, but that’s the luck of the draw. Also only had 10 keeper crabs but that is fine. We had quite a few but most were sponges, or pregnant. Overall had a great conversation and outing and would choose them again in a heartbeat if we ever get back that way. Such a great setup for a family.

Captain Dave and crew were great! Gave us the game plan from the start and asked what we were trying to accomplish. Moved to a few different locations and each held fish. He explained the technique of hooking up on flounder and took the time to visually show us(on the first flounder landed) how they lay on bottom to camouflage themselves and feed. Caught at least 10 flounder, lost a few and missed some. No keepers but that wasn’t our goal. We just wanted to enjoy a morning on the water fishing with the kids and hopefully catch fish. Which we did! Very accommodating and would absolutely book again when in Ocean City.
