Depending on the season, you might hook into Redfish, Snook, Sheepshead, Spotted Seatrout, Bonnethead Shark, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Mangrove Snapper, and plenty more. During the trip, you might be spinning, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll find yourself aboard a 24’ Skeeter center console with space for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We came to Florida from Richmond, Virginia, and after reading about the various captains available, I thought Captain Tony looked the most interesting and knowledgeable. From the moment we met him, we were ‘hooked’! He knows the waters like the back of his hand and most importantly he knows how to catch FISH! We are avid angler women, but we gained more knowledge from Captain Tony in one day than we have in quite sometime. He is extremely safety conscientious and clearly has a wonderful reputation throughout his community. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this brilliant Captain! Thank you, Tony! We WILL be back!!!!

A blast out on the water and a cooler full of fish

Not the best day for finishing (a little cold, a little windy, and a little choppy), but nonetheless Capt. Tony had us on fish within 15 minutes of leaving the dock and kept us on them all day. We caught many black drum, sheephead, mangrove snapper, snook, catfish, stingray, and ladyfish. My 13yo daughter had a great time, and Capt. Tony was awesome taking the time to teach her about the fish we caught, the local wildlife, and suggesting things to do on our trip. Besides the fishing the captn. is just a kind and genuine person who truly loves to fish and will make sure you have a great time. He made the whole day a blast with his stories and banter. I’d go finishing or have a beer with him any day.

First Mate's Choice (Half Day) on June 20, 2024
Captain Tony was awesome. June 20th 2024 the winds were crazy high and it was overcast which made fishing difficult. Even though we didn’t catch a boat load of fish we still caught a handful of different kinds. Some to keep and eat and some to throw back. My second cast I caught a Flounder that was just .25” short of a keeper but still a good one to reel in. I caught a good size Jack that was a good little fight. We all caught a sting ray and a handful of puffer fish. I can’t wait to come back to visit my parents and take a trip back to Voodoo Charters and hit the water again with Captain Tony.

Tony put us right on fish, a hard working Captain, I highly recommend booking a first class trip for reasonable money. He was also a great tour guide on way out and back in pointing out Bald Eagles and Loggerhead Turtles and Indian monument. If you want a super fishing day give him a call....

We had a fabulous time fishing w Captain Tony. My husband and I are both novices at fishing and Tony gave us clear instructions throughout the day, starting with a safety brief and ending with fish cleaning. He also provided special TLC to our 7 year old granddaughter. We went home with a nice batch of fish fillets that will feed us for the next couple of days. Highly recommend booking w Voodoo Charters. We will definitely be back.
