Plug’s N’ Bug’s Guide Service – 21'

4.9/5 (49 reviews)
Oceanside Drive, Gold Beach, OR 97444, United States

Book your next trip with Plug’s N Bug’s guide service and find out what fishing in Gold Beach is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mathew can tell you all about the local fishery.

Chinook Salmon, Lingcod, Coho Salmon, Black Rockfish, and more can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!

You’ll step aboard a 21’ Aluminum fishing with room for 4 passengers. It has a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board.

You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect. A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Alcohol is allowed.

Plug’s N Bug’s guide service will make it easy for you to go fishing in Gold Beach. So, how about booking that trip?

Matthew was a very knowledgeable and competent Captain, even though we didn’t catch a fish I would charter another fishing trip with him. The reason we didn’t get any fish was it was the end of the run, planning on booking a fall salmon trip with plug & Bug again.

8 Hour Trip – Salmon on July 21, 2024

Capt Matt’s boat, equipment, and local knowledge of river, currents, and fishing techniques was very impressive. Capt Matt works solo and is in complete control of his operation, his boat handling skills are excellent, even in heavy traffic patterns in the narrow river entrance. He instructed on all aspects of angling in a very cool, calm professional manner putting everyone at ease. Capt Matt is also a very nice energetic easy to talk to and willing to field all your questions. He has my full recommendation for great trip no matter how the bite treats you.

We signed up for a spring chinook trip.First thing Matt says, the bite won't start foe a few hours. If you want i can put you on some rockfish before we start. Off we went and caught some rock fish. Then back into the river. By the end of the trip our boat had caught 2/3 of the fish caught today. Matt truly focuses on putting his customers on the fish. Thanks for a great experience today Matt.
