These waters are known for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail Snapper, Rockfish, Striped Marlin, Swordfish, Bonito, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Lingcod, White Seabass, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Roman can also have you kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing and bowfishing.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own.
You'll be dropping lines from a 25' Defiance Pilothouse with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Roman will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself. You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
