If fishing in the Port Aransas area is on your bucket list, look no further than Wind Knot Charters!
Captain James will be your guide, allowing you to benefit from years of local experience.
Around here, fishing is popular for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and more with any luck.
On these trips, you can expect to hunt for fish in shallow waters and take your shot at them with a fly rod! Fly rod outfits are provided by the charter. However, if you have your own, don't hesitate to bring it aboard! Light tackle spinning and bait casting rods are provided as well if that is your preferred method of fishing.
Capt. James is happy to have kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You'll step aboard an 18' flats skiff that can carry up to 2 passengers.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know the local regulations.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now, time to hit the water with Captain James!

James was very informative about weather patterns & various fishing education. Every stop we made, we caught fish. Red Fish & Trout. James would point out schools of Red Fish & Perch. We did see Sting Rays, Dolphins & Jellyfish. He provided us with an amazing first time experience for me & my husband. I would definitely recommend him!
We all enjoyed our trip with Captain James. Communication was prompt and thorough. Pickup location was changed due to forecast which proved to me that James takes his trips seriously. The change was communicated with plenty of time to adjust. I was bringing two 18 year old young ladies who had never fished saltwater before. James obliged me to ride along and help out even though it was a two person trip. The girls caught pretty much every species possible on a bay trip and had a blast. We even fished a little late to make sure both ladies caught a good fish at James’ request. We will definitely be back and look forward to sharing more boat rides with James.

Captain James was awesome, super knowledgeable and friendly. We had thought the weather would interfere with our day, but it made for Cooler conditions. We put Ourselves in the hands of the captain and his experience paid off I would recommend him to anyone who wants to try, casting the mangrove islands of Corpus Christi Bay. We caught speckled trout and a couple of large redfish. We kept one and ate it. It was delicious.

Skilled and patient guide. He will put you on for fish for sure! Will definitely book again!
Captain James was awesome. Way to windy to sight fish, which he let us know ahead of time, but man did he work his ass off to catch fish. Great Guy, great boat, we will definitely do this again.
