Captain Paul and his crew provided a memorable fishing experience for me and my two young sons. At first, the water was rough, the salmon weren’t biting, and our hopes were fading. But Captain Paul had an ace up his sleeve, pivoting us into flounder fishing. And we caught dozens! Thank you for a wonderful day of fishing.

As previously noted on this review form, his fishing boat, rod/reels were all “state of the art” as well as his overall fishing expertise and “coaching” resulted in us catching our limit of beautiful coho’s! An important point I want to add is I brought my 90yo father in law with me and despite the obvious challenges, Paul’s boat provided easy access (side door entrance), a warm enclosed cabin and the catamaran design helped ensure a smooth comfortable experience on “the sound” which were all prior concerns of mine.
Lastly, Paul was very informative (ie. fish where the bait
is!) patient (my FIL is hearing impaired) and friendly which certainly added to our great experience. I highly recommend him!

After more than 40 different charter experiences with boats ranging from party boats to 4-person private trips all over the US, I can say that Captain Paul Kim is one of the best. 
This was a mixed group. There was a husband and wife in one party, a friend, and me in the second.  This was the first time for either of us fishing for salmon, and the couple had fished salmon apparently multiple times.
We had an absolute blast!
CPT Paul has extensive knowledge of the environment, fishing patterns, species we were targeting, and those we weren’t. 
Cpt Paul is our first and now exclusive captain for fishing Seattle area!
He was on point in every aspect. His boat is top notch welded aluminum. Clean, smooth ride. His 3 gas motors are all controlled from inside or outside. His system has GPS controls including his electric trolling motor.
He has gadgetry that keeps you where you need to be at the speed needed.
His 9.9 yamaha (I want my own boat one day so yeah, I noticed his trolling motor) kept us at whatever the speed he set was.
The custom built boat took 9 months to be built.  Talk about great planning! 
He even has a setup to keep the hot water that is usually cycled through the engine and let out into the bay instead going to a small tank he uses to keep his hand/deck washing towel warm in the colder mornings.
Such thought.  As an environmental note, this allows the water the engine heats to cool a little before going back into the ocean preventing a bit of thermal impact.  Well done Captain!
Fishing here is like fishing with a friend! (That ACTUALLY knows where fish are and how to catch them!)
There was a loss of some gear through accidental fraying (and probably my inexperience with the particular fishing setup)  Captain Paul acted extremely professionally and said with a smile- thats the cost of doing business sometimes.
Really, what a great guy!
We are huge fans. Can’t say enough good about our trip. And yes, we all caught our limit fairly quickly.

Capt. Paul Kim is a true Renaissance man well skilled in many areas of life! His engaging professionalism and very personable demeanor immediately put our grandson at ease with heading out into deep water for his first PNW fishing trip.  Capt. Kim patiently explained his every move to us all and focused his efforts on making sure everyone enjoyed a very safe and productive adventure. Our grandson caught the first flounder (which he wanted Capt. Kim to cook right then, and right there), the largest flounder, and the first of two dogfish (sharks). We were all very impressed by this solid, and well-planned locally built vessel of his own design. The entire trip was comfortable and smooth, and we felt very safe on his vessel. We are extraordinarily grateful to Capt. Kim making this a trip we will all talk about for years. We are blessed to have selected Capt. Paul Kim as our guide and mentor for our grandson’s first fishing trip and really look forward to our next visit which we will plan with red salmon fishing in mind. Thank you, Capt. Kim, for a great trip, we will be back!

Took my nephew and 10 year old son Salmon fishing with Capt Paul Kim and had the best fishing experience ever. Capt Kim and his first mate Zach were the best. They were flexible, patient and taught the boys a lot about fishing which was an added benefit to catching our limit within 1 1/2 hours!! I really wanted a hands on experience for my 10 year old and Nephew and Capt Kim and Zach made sure we had that experience and more. They were patient with our inexperience while being supportive of the two boys at all times. We couldn’t ask for more. Scheduling was super easy and Capt Kim offered multiple suggestions to make sure we had a great experience. He was quick to respond and always seemed focus not on his own plans for us but on what we wanted to experience and how he could get that experience for us. There’s no doubt we will be back and only with Capt Kim. Now we know exactly who to contact when we come back to Seattle.
