Fishing With Mike Harter
Book your next trip with Mike Harter and find out what fishing in Westminster is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mike can tell you all about them.
These waters are known for Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Spotted Bass, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some.
On these trips, it's common to troll using light tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You'll be casting lines from a 22' Bennington pontoon boat with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Capt. Mike meets his clients at a selected boat ramp closes to where the fish are depending on the time of year. He has a 21' Nitro Z21 bass boat for bass fishing and 22' Bennington Pontoon set up for striper fishing for up to 6 people. These waters are known for Bass/Stripers/Hybrids and he will show you how to catch them, whether you're using live bait, trolling or jigging. With great knowledge of the area and a good network of other guides, he has a trick or two up his sleeve, and the only way to learn is to join him out on the water!
