Silverback Reel Hooker is all about fishing the stunning waters of San Antonio. With Captain Martin at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
These waters are known for Catfish, Redfish, and more. During the trip, you might be trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they’re within the legal limit. The captain can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 22’ Center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers and all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Some essentials to bring are snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

“My son and I had an amazing time out on Calaveras Lake! Our guide, Martin, was fantastic—he really knew the lake and put us on the fish right away. What stood out most was how great he was with my son, keeping him engaged and making sure he had just as much fun as I did. You can tell Martin is experienced, patient, and genuinely loves what he does. We felt safe, learned a lot, and had a blast. We’ll definitely be booking another trip with him again. Highly recommend!”

End of season success

A slow day for us and other boats at the end of the season on Calaveras Lake. My wife started us off with a 10-12 pound catfish while trolling and then I caught a 4-5 pound redfish and later an approximately 15 pound catfish. The catfish were the largest either of us had ever caught! Thank you for an enjoyable trip, Captain Martin!

my dad has bad knees and my mom has never been on a boat captain made it very easy for us all explained things to us didnt give us no stories lies or anything caught us fish and didnt stop hunting for us paid attention to us communicated and took care of us will definitely be going back made my parents very happy to the point they are asking when our next trip is
