These waters are known for Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, Redfish, and more. During the trip, you might be trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they're within the legal limit. The captain can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
You'll be dropping lines from a 22' Center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers and all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Canopies will shield you from the sun, if needed. Please be advised, customers 17 and older require a fishing license. You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online at Texas Park and Wildlife website, or you can ask the captain.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Unfortunately for us there was a full moon the night before and the bite was slow but nonetheless Martin worked his tail off and got us on some fish. He was great with the kids and always works hard for his clients. I highly recommend.

We have gone out with Martin in the past and I can tell you that this man cares whether you catch, and will do anything in his power to make sure that you have an amazing day on the lake. He has always gone above and beyond. We even requested to fish a specific way and he accommodated graciously. Although we only caught three fish today, we know that he can’t control whether or not the fish are biting, but we will book with him time and again because he’s so wonderful.

We caught about 9 Reds and a few Blue cats. I will definately book my next trip to Calaveras with Martin. I would definately recommend Martin if your headed to Calaveras lake.

we had a great experience with Captain Martin. He was very knowledgeable about the lake and was able to locate fish effectively. He worked hard to keep us on fish for our entire trip, though the bite was light the day we were there. He educated us about the lake and fishing opportunities with good experience. His friendliness and humor came through. Would recommend him to other fisherman.
