Captain Scotty's Fishing Charters III
If fishing in North Myrtle Beach is on your bucket list, look no further than Captain Scotty’s Fishing Charters III. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Scotty knows them forwards and back.
Top targets include Cobia, Wahoo, Great Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, and more, depending on conditions. During the trip, you might be trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You’ll be casting lines from a 29’ Twin Vee catamaran that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.
Captain Scotty will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included. You’ll additionally have the help of a First Mate to put you on the fish.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. It’s recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), refreshments, snacks, and sunglasses. Bottled water is provided, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Bad weather/waves, plan B
You can’t predict the weather… the night before the forecast was looking promising for a near shore/offshore trip as planned. Overnight without any indication in the forecast, a storm popped up and changed the ocean forecasted 2’ waves to 4+. Larger boats gave it a shot headed out the inlet only to tuck tail and turn around… Capt Richard knew it wouldn’t be in everyone’s best interest not to beat us up heading out the inlet so we made a plan be to fish the jetties and sea walls hooking Into a couple nice drum. Wasn’t the trip we planned for but Captain Richard was super nice and enjoyable with my 12 year old daughter. Highly recommend.

Great experience, even in less than ideal weather
The week we were in MB, the fishing conditions weren’t ideal, but we had a 15 year old that was super excited to fish. Our captain, Rich, was super flexible and helped us make the best of our circumstances. We ended up fishing inland, and had a great morning. He worked with us to find the best day during our trip, even though it wasn’t the day we originally booked. Our son caught several fish and was happy. Rich was an awesome guide and took great care of us, we would definitely use this company again.

Half Day Tour
We went out offshore about 8 miles. It was a little rough, but neither myself nor my 9 year old got sea sick. We caught a few Bonitos, a ton of lizard fish, a blue fish and a Spanish mackerel. We were hoping for that shark, but just ran out of time. Captain Rich was great. And my boy and I had some great bonding time.

Barracuda caught
My brother and I went out on this trip, we caught lots of black bass and 1 nice barracuda. We saw plenty others, they just weren’t hungry. Also had a 9 foot tiger come in the area, tried to hook on that monster but were not able to. Caught lots of other small aka bait fish.

Highly recommend this charter. Boat and gear were in great shape. Capt was excellent and flexible with the changing weather conditions. Caught some fish and it was a memorable trip out on the water with the family.
