Come spend the day with Penn Coastal Fishing Guide Services and see what’s biting in Port Aransas! With Captain Jodie Penn at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Captain Jodie has been fishing these waters almost daily since 2015.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and anything else that bites. The captain typically uses bait and/or lures depending on the species and conditions.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Adult life jackets will be provided. Also, remember to bring snacks and drinks as the charter has a 75-quart cooler for customer use.
You’ll be casting lines from a 23’ Majek M2 Illusion with a capacity for 5 passengers. It has a shade top, live well, bait well, trolling motor, and 2 Raptor power anchors. Captain offers half-day and full-day trips that include rods, reels, and tackle along with lures and live bait.
You will need to have a TPWD saltwater-approved fishing license before the trip. A fishing license can be purchased online or you can ask the captain where to purchase one in person. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can keep any legal fish that you catch, or you may choose to catch and release. Ask the captain about fish cleaning services. Don’t leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please try to avoid glass bottles.

Birthday Fishing Trip for my son was fantastic

10 Stars!
If 10 stars were an option, I’d give it! It wasn’t JUST about fishing for us, it was the total experience. There’s plenty to look at while moving from spot to spot, and a dolphin joined us about 20ft or so away from the boat and just sort of “hung out” while we were in the first spot. Penn was very personable, like you were fishing with a friend. He worked his tail off the whole way through the trip; no wasting time at all. It was a great experience from start to finish and we really enjoyed ourselves. Book with Penn Coastal and you’ll experience it for yourself!

Great day fishing
Had a great time fishing. Jodie and his cousin were great. Fishing was a blast, and I will definitely come back and use them for guide services again. Fried some of the Black Drum last night and it was the best fried fish I have ever had. Thanks!

Spring redfish and black drum with Capt. Jodie
My three adult sons snd I went out with Capt. Jodie Penn. Spring winds impacted the trip but catching big reds and blacks ruled the day. It took a little while to land the first keeper but Jodie kept us on productive sand holes. He is a true professional and one to consider for your next trip.. This is business to Jodie, not just a man and a boat, he will not waste your time and money!

Good time.
If you fish enough, you know not every trip is a banger. We did catch fish but wasn’t real hot. However I was extremely impressed at how hard he worked to put me on fish - no doubt in my mind that it was just a bad day. I will definitely go with Captian Jodie again!!!! Great guy!!!!
