Fishing Guide Lake Conroe – Ray Hunt 

Today was the first time my wife and I have hired a guide to take us fishing. Im telling you, we struck GOLD our first time out. We went out with Captain Ray Hunt and we were throughly impressed. From his knowledge, his top of the line equipment, to his ability to teach an old dog new tricks, all the while putting us on some amazing fish. Captain Hunt has the patience needed to teach new fishing techniques to anyone aboard his boat. We both highly recoment Captain Ray Hunt to anyone who wishes to hire a guide for some fresh water fishing. Thank you Captain Ray, we will be scheduling with you again soon.

Ray went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. His pontoon is not only beautiful but also extremely comfortable, stocked with everything you need for a successful and enjoyable fishing trip. What stood out most was how kind and patient he was with my 9-year-old daughter—something that meant a lot to us. This was my fourth guided fishing trip on Lake Conroe, but my first time with Ray, and I can confidently say I won’t be booking with anyone else from now on.

If you want to catch lots of fish, this is the guide you really want. With his knowledge and fishing technology gadgets, any one will catch fish. Most highly recommend this professional guide that loves his work.

Captain Ray was highly knowledgeable and skilled. He was very patient with me and my son as he showed us all the best spots to catch some catfish and crappie. The boat and all the equipment was top notch and Captain Ray was a really nice guy to spend the day with. I highly recommend his service to anyone, and we’ll be boookk him again for sure.

What a great day on the water! Guide, Ray Hunt, could not have been more friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Picked up lots of tips — and caught plenty of fish. His tri-hull boat with double Bimini tops has ALL the toys, and Ray flat knows how to use them. You can fish in sun or shade. GREAT setup! I’d leave TEN stars if I could.

Ray had several great fishing spots and kept us on the fish! Took home a full cooler of channel and blue cats, which is what we were looking for. Super nice and knowledgeable. Our family had a great time. We would definitely recommend his guide services!

The trip was for my 13 year old granddaughter and 17 year old grandson. The 8:15 start time was much better than the usual 6:00 or 6:30 start time because we had a 70 mile drive. Capt.Ray explained fishing with the cameras which was something new to all of us. He put us on fish immediately. The 13 year old had one on the hook before Capt. Ray could get her brother's hook baited. Between the two of them, they kept Capt. Ray so busy taking fish off the hook and baiting their hooks that it was 15 or 20 minutes before grandpa could get a hook in the water. The youngest one caught the most fish. The oldest one caught the biggest one at 5lbs. 3 ounces. Both caught a 3 lbs. +. Capt. Ray was very patient and instructive about technique with the kids and it paid off. The goal of the trip was for the kids to catch fish, have fun and to increase their interest in fishing. The trip was a total success. I would highly recommend a trip with Ray Hunt.

Had a great day on the water with Capt. Ray. He was great with up front communication and was clear on our expectations and desires for the day before leaving the dock. The bite was slow to start the day but Captain stuck with it and worked with us to ensure we had opportunities. Then the bite got hot and was lights out for several hours. Captain Ray worked hard to ensure we always had lines in the water and stayed on the fish. Overall a great day and a great experience with a Captain that worked hard to ensure we had success.

First, I will say that my kids’ (10 and 8 yo) feedback right after we walked off the boat was that Ray was the best fishing guide we have used. Now, a limited guide list, but probably 8 or so, so it was high praise, if you think about it. Now, we caught fish… a lot of them. For late November, I was surprised. But the reality is that Ray knows the spots and really sets you up for success. It was cold and windy when we started, but after a few fish (catfish) we quickly looked past the temp and enjoyed the day. It was a lot of fun and we will be back (when it is warmer). But I could not ask for a better day. We have had a busy Fall (without fishing) and it was a perfect day back fishing with the kids….
