Papa Smurf Charters
Fishing with Captain Anthony Wescot and First Mate Mike is never a dull moment! They make sure their clients are comfortable, happy, and, at the end of the day, satisfied with their catch!
Depending on the season, you might hook into Grunt, Great Barracuda, Goliath Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Jack, Kingfish, Snapper, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Rainbow Runner, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and anything else that bites. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your boat for the day is a 28’ Center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Anthony has rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
Trips are run with the help of First Mate Mike. Mates often work for tips, and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip. Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
After the trip, the captain can recommend a restaurant to cook your fresh catch. Now, that’s dinner! Remember to bring sunglasses and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks and some snacks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Second year in a row! Triple the fun!
An absolute gem off a fishing trip! 2 Mahi Mahi, 1 giant trigger fish and a half bucket full of fish fry material. Non stop action and making memories that will last forever. This is our second year fishing with Captain Anthony and Mike and we are definitely coming back next year. Stop looking around. You found your guy.

Papa Smurf is the BEST!
We have never been fishing in the Caribbean before and didn’t know what to expect but Papa Smurf blew us out of the water! We had an incredible experience with Captain Anthony and first mate Mike. They took us to a couple great spots on the reef and we caught a ton of strawberry grouper, rainbow runners, triggerfish, yellowfin snapper and butterfish. There were times all 4 of us had multiple fish on the line and we ended up with a pile of very nice size fish that was delicious and good for grilling and baking. Anthony and Mike were super attentive, friendly and helpful and even taught some of our novice fishermen a few tips and tricks. Definitely a five star experience, great price, and awesome time and we will be booking again next time we are in St. Maarten.

Highlight of our Honeymoon!
My husband & I honeymooned to St Martin & we are so glad we booked with Papa Smurf. The crew was so kind, generous & really knew what they were doing. We were fortunate to catch a wahoo, tuna & a few barracuda! When arriving back to the dock they surprised us with a champagne toast which couldn’t have been more thoughtful! After the charter ended, they sliced up our fish & took us to a local chef who prepared our fresh caught fish for us - it was amazing! This charter was truly the highlight of our trip & I couldn’t have asked for a better crew to lead us through it! I would absolutely recommend Papa Smurf!

Four of us gentlemen embarked on an unforgettable half-day fishing adventure aboard the Papa Smurf with Captain Anthony and First Mate “Magic” Mike. Our hosts were a couple of very skilled and passionate anglers with a deep understanding of the local waters. Their expertise navigating the boat and ability to read the water were truly impressive. The highlight of the trip was landing a 45 pound Wahoo. Captain Anthony and Magic Mike are exceptional hosts. They are friendly and welcoming always willing to go the extra mile making sure we had everything we needed. Great charter!!!!
A travel influencer said it would be hard pressed to find a local fishermen willing to take my son and I out. Papa Smurf (Anthony) was as close to this experience as I think you can get. Anthony and Mike taught us how to ocean fish, every fish pulled in was named, and they gave us cooking recommendations. Papa even gave us a contact to have our fish cooked! Fishing booker and the website/emails say license and cleaning are not included but Anthony and his first mate took care of EVERYTHING!! Highly recommended and hope to schedule a deep sea fishing charter. I can’t say enough good about Papa Smurf and the experience.
