Spend the day with Marina El Cid and find out what the fishing in Puerto Morelos is all about! With experienced captains at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Sailfish, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Great Barracuda, Wahoo, Mutton Snapper, Red Grouper, Cubera Snapper, Amberjack, and who knows what else! You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Your vessel for the day is Tequila, a 33’ Bertram offshore sport fishing vessel with room for 8 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. Don’t leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Lunch is provided on 6 and 8-hour trips, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.
Now, come aboard with Marina El Cid and get hooked!
