Spend the day with Plan B Charters and see what’s biting in Cancún! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Alberto and Roberto prepared to put you on fish.
Local species include Black Grouper, Blue Marlin, Gag Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Red Grouper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Amberjack, Great Barracuda, White Marlin, and more with any luck. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
You’ll be welcome aboard A la Deriva, a 27’ Sea Hawk center console with space for 6 passengers. It has a fighting chair and all the essentials. Capt. Alberto will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Lunch is provided, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Plan B Charters and A la Deriva!
