These waters are known for Gag Grouper, Broomtail Grouper, Lane Snapper, Great Barracuda, Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Black Grouper, Almaco Jack, Mutton Snapper, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Hogfish, Cubera Snapper, and more – with any luck, you’ll find out for yourself! You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Yoandi welcomes you aboard a 41’ Intrepid walkaround that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Check-in with the Captain on what type of trip you wish to have and what equipment will be at your disposal for it.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
It’s always wise to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
